That's impressive! I don't think it can be legal, though - as far as I know, the game won't load anything without the right digital signature, and faking that is pretty illegal. I could be wrong, though.

A pity there's not really enough RAM to make proper use of it, and a great pity FOSE can't get ported, but this should at least appease a lot of people.

EDIT: More to the point: Link?

How can it be legal when Microsoft said no user made content?

This is an important point. It doesn't matter HOW the user-made content was gotten onto the XBox, if Microsoft doesn't approve of it that makes it illegal inasmuch as it violates the EULA. You don't have to like it (I sure don't) but you do have to recognize it.

Windows is MS' OS, the XBox is MS's closed-off gaming playground. They're under totally different rules.

We're talking about the XBox here, not the PC. Try and keep up.

No.... PC is a copyrighted term by IBM, but they have been lax about enforcing it, and it grew to just mean any non Apple computer. Microsoft makes Operating Systems for computers.

That may be so, but that does not make it legal, nor does that make sharing the info on how to do it legal.

From the looks of it, they had to trick the x-box in thinking it was a DLC, which is basically classed as tampering with the x-box, and not allowed.

The thing is, it's not legal. http://hackaday.com/2009/12/28/xexloader-reminds-us-of-xbox-glory-days/ Even if you didn't, you'd still need to connect your HDD to your computer to get the mods and use special software, which isn't tolerated by Microsoft.

figures this mod can be done, but the 360 doesnt have the hardware to have good use for it.

i thought this could be done too, it would be a longshot, but man it looks like it works too...
