Looting a dead person

I was actually playing off as the greedy rat who'd do anything for a buck.
Of course I know that grave-digging is wrong and understand why there is a karma hit for it.
Was meant as a joke which didn't succeed properly. :sadvaultboy:

I think the owner should just kick you out of the bed and their action is based on their morality from yelling to violence. There should be no karma hit.

Still it means we can sleep in a bed that is owned by someone. Karma will not really matter in FO New Vegas. Reputation does. I agree that getting bad karma for sleeping in a bed or taking things from someone that's already dead is dumb but the karma lose will be minimal at best.

No that in fallout3 your not allowed to sleep on the persons bed but if that person was dead you would still not be allowed to... on hardcoe mode in new vegas you need sleep if you find a persons bed and they are dead you might be able to sleep in the bed Im hoping that is so

I hope we can sleep in the bed of some that is dead. Bugs me in FO3 that we can'r sleep in a dead mans bed.

Taking a little bit of a karma hit is ok I guess.. I mean I constantly stole things in F3 and it really didn't seem to lower your karma by very much at all. I played a thiefy type character my first time through and still ended up having very good karma.
There will be a lot more moral decisions to affect us this time around so I"m really looking forward to that.

The karma hit for stealing is very low. I believe it is -5 karma for each object stolen, with containers counting as just a single item even if they were full. Compare that to the -200 or greater karma hits for evil actions in quests, etc. and the +200 boosts to karma for good actions, and you can see why it never mattered much in the long run.

Ah, my sarcasm detector must have broken again. I also forgot to mention the caveat about grave robbing. If the grave is many hundreds or thousands of years old, it no longer counts as grave robbing, but suddenly becomes archeology! Just remember to keep a straight and serious face and nod contemplatively at each object before you carry it off, instead of cackling with glee as you make off with the dead person's treasures.
