Looting female apparel items as a male

Post » Sat Oct 01, 2011 11:28 pm

I was wondering...

Let's say you are playing as a male Nord and you have just killed a woman bandit/warrior and you want to loot her apparel items... Do her armor/clothes/other apparel items magically turn as male apparel when you add them in your menu, or you just can't wear female stuff?

Let me know in the comments below.

Probably be just like the system in Oblivion so yes, magical gender clothing changing! Or so I assume.

We all definitely noticed this in Oblivion. I have no idea whether or not Bethesda have done anything to change it in Skyrim.

Does it REALLY MATTER? Like, is this seriously a major concern for you? Just play the game and get on with it.

You can [censored] think of an idea... :P

@xDcM It is absolutely not a matter of life for me, bro, I was simply wondering. You know, it happens to notice and think of questions when you watch a 3 parts demo everyday

It won't be changed. Dovahkiin will magically poof the opposite genders clothing into something that'll fit them.

I'd like to see unwearable clothing if you loot from the opposite gender, but that's probably too annoying for implementation.

Maybe the apparel doesn't change for the gender, but you can always trade them and get money from.

It'll probably be the same as any game like this (except maybe Morrowind), meaning no crossdressing :(.

I liked my beefy male Nord in Morrowind running around in a pretty purple skirt!

Todd said that you cant wear the opposite sixes clothes. He also said that if you wear clothing for a argonian or cat, you will have a noticable hole in your buttocks. Further, he said that you cant jsut wear any armour, the person has to be of similar size, so this will play into the start, if you are a mammoth of a character no armour will fit you and you will have to visit the taylor to have it adjusted.

He also suggested that wearing said armour for more than two in game days, decreases the characters stealth due to body odour, so you have to shower.

You can loot their clothes, but you can't wear them.

It would be difficult to implement gender specific armor from loot without making sure there are an equal number of both genders throughout the game world, from what I've seen so far there are still more male enemies than female, gender specific armor would make it unfair to those choosing to play female characters.

I would prefer clothing and armor that stayed what it was and leave it as players choice, as long as the player can't influence the rest of the world and have that use common sense - except for the odd crossdressing easteregg of course. Part of smithing service could be to change armor into other six style, similar with clothing shops - a sum of gold and the transform is done.

When I play female, for casual clothing I tend to go with black/dark shirt (the one with zero weight) and blacksmiths pants. Just wish there were some fancy gloves in there, leather gloves are just a tad too bulky.
