Anyone have any ideas, I thought karstaag was the last one, and he was killed in Bloodmoon?
Anyone have an explanation?

I think it is clear that this particular race is rare or elusive but perhaps Karstaag was the "last one" only on Solstheim. Though, perhaps they are extinct and are undead and coming back from the Soul Cairn, which I believe will be featured in Dawnguard.

Wait until it comes out. Then we can stop speculating and get real answers.

My explanation would be that there are giants in Skyrim, no reason that there aren't frost giants in Skyrim too.

Except they were supposed to be extinct...

Now there's nothing necessarily wrong with that contradiction. After all, it's plausible that everyone on Tamriel would believe them gone when in fact they're just hiding under rocks or something. But there's still a contradiction here.

Dragons were extinct too (except the Akatosh Chantry and the one dragon under Vvardenfell), but that has no relevance to this situation. After all, I doubt that the Firstborn of the King of Atmora would go around Thu'uming Frost Giants back to life. Same with the Falmer.

I'm in the "they were just hiding" camp.

However there was still hundreds of rumors about the falmer being alive, frost giants have barely ever been mentioned, hell they weren't even mentioned in Oblivion and Skyrim!!!

There's a Frost Giant supposedly living on Solstheim during the events of the Infernal City/Lord of Souls, about 4E 40. I think it's unclear whether Karstaag is the name of the giant from Bloodmoon or a collective term, based on an obscure bit of lore that isn't springing to mind...

The Soul Carin is a pocket realm of Oblivion that siphons undead souls through it. It is possible that the frost giant could come from there, though thats mere speculation. Karstagg was in an isolated area of Tamrial that was only noted by a tribe of Nords. Dragons were considered extinct, even though Paarthurnax was living at the Throat of the Word for "thousands of years" waiting for Alduin to escape the Time-Wound after the ancient nords trapped him. You can't really guess at why certain races pop back. Just wait until Dawnguard comes and we'll see whats what :D

Karstaag wasn't the last frost giant. In the books they mention frost giants. I think they're just elusive.

Trolls have 3 eyes. Frost giants have 5. It was also using a giant's club.

Troll gets bitten by radioactive spider, turns into frost giant.

I dont remember it saying that Karstaag was the last one, most likely the only one living on Solstheim but not the only one living anywhere.

For the love of Talos, don't even entertain that thought.

I wanna see some cliffracers. With these graphical improvements...

We need more flying enemies anyways. Dragons are all we got. We have the technology to have real flying enemies.

Try swinging at a floating critter for five minutes getting nowhere when there's no water in sight for you to get away from him and get out of combat? Oh, and arrows aren't very effective either, and the magic system is...difficult, particularly on a keyboard.

I grew to hate Cliff Racers pretty quickly when I played Morrowind. They were a useless enemy to fight, and an endless annoyance. Not to mention they can spot you from miles away and chase you until they either die or you find water to dive into.

With flying dragons, you can ignore them if they're not immediately hostile.

hehe he was very effective then  though your magick might have failed due to loss of fatigue from running, though idk how magick was hard on keyboard i thought all the games were hard on console but i played on pc more.

having low agility in MW was the worst. You can't hit anything ever. I got killed by a scrib once because i was just starting a char and I was like "Oh! Scrib Jelly is worth a penny" so I tried to whack it, failed, it paralyzed me and killed my naked character.

I hate cliffracers with a fiery burning passion... as hot as Red Mountain was when it exploded early on in the 4th Era :P

We need Cliffracers back. And of course, the tougher "Frost Cliffracers" to go along with them.
