lore mess up

in the new voice actors video at around 7:50 Alfred Molina say's in character he has the amulet of kings. now forgive me if my memory is a bitt foggy but isn't the amulet still in the Reman tombs waiting for Tiber "badass" Septim to find it? is this a big lore mix up or is Molinas character lying to who ever is in that scene?

It disappeared during the Interregnum, and according to legend Tiber found it in Reman III's tomb. 'Disappeared' only means that the public has no idea where it went, it could very well have changed hands between various pretenders to the Imperial Throne who didn't announce that they had it because the Amulet would not allow them to wear it, proving their illegitimacy to rule. In the end they may have eventually come to bury it in Reman III's tomb as a way to dispose of a piece of inconvenient truth where people would be unlikely to dig it up again. Additionally, the legend of Tiber finding it in Sancre Tor may be a fabrication of propaganda, or simply wrong.

Chim-El is wherever it's needed. It likes to move around, just like any other Artifact.

Besides, [insert hand-wavey not-full-story Tsaesci-stole-it-or-something-and-it-was-eventually-put-there and/or Tiber-propaganda-is-unreliable].

Quite so. Its easy to forget that Chim-El is a sentient amalgamation of previous Emperors. That it might be able to influence events around it to one degree or another is not out of the question.

Assuming that the speaker here is a Cyrodiilic emperor during the Interregnum, this would be a mistake assuming that he's telling the truth. It's certainly possible that an emperor has decided to fool the masses by having a mock-up made to try to legitimize himself.

Keep in mind that I haven't watched the video yet, nor am I part of the beta, so I'm only guessing at one possible explanation.

I would only worry if it were a bad explanation, but from your reaction, I have to assume that it is reasonable. Thank you.

It's similar to the One Ring in that aspect.

All Artifacts in TES do that, actually, either as a function of the will of the gods or due to their own native intelligence.
