Lore of places unseenunvisited

Anyone want to talk about what little tidbits of lore we have gained from places in the USA that have yet to appear in-game?

For instance, based off of endings of vanilla NV, and the Honest Hearts DLC, the states of Idaho and Wyoming appear to have no large or major cities/group of any significant power, based off of the fact the Khans and White Legs can retreat to those states in an attempt to rebuild after losses gained in NV and HH. It wouldn't make sense they would retreat to those areas if there is a major power there that would likely kick their ass the moment they showed up.

Also, the fact that The Followers apparently have missionaries in Wyoming seems to imply the state is largely composed of tribal cultures like the area the Legion now occupies was when Edward first went out there. This is further evidenced by how the Khans can apparently build a large empire out of Wyoming in a short time after connecting with The Followers there, which wouldn't be possible is there was a whole lot of advanced/developed cities rather then tribal cultures.

We know Montana has a town with an active coal mine, and if the coal mine in question is based off of a real one, the locations said town can be are fairly narrow, as seen in this pic of Montana's active coal mines.

We also know that people like the Courier have been to Montana, suggesting travel up to that region isn't unheard of.

All in all, it seems like Obsidian set up those states to be a whole lot of almost nothing, which makes sense given that Wyoming is THE least populated state in the U.S., with Montana being the 7th, and Idaho being the 12th.

After the nuclear war killed off 99% of people in America, not to mention the world there likely wouldn't be much of anyone left in those already empty states, especially considering that even California, a state of 38.8 million today only has like 1 million people in it 200 years after the war.

Its really small, but I'd really like to know more about the "The School" that the children in HH are mentioned to have come from. Presumably it is (or was) in Utah somewhere but I don't know if that's ever definitely stated.

The way its described, along with the ominous "Principal" make it seem like it was actually some sort of functioning school. My personal theory is that its some sort of remote pre-war boarding school that survived the war and developed into an isolated community of sorts obviously controlled by some sort of all-powerful leader still called "The Principal".

Another is Broken Banks which is mentioned in Point Lookout, and which Tobar describes as another popular spot of fortune seekers.

And of course, the Abbey of the Road. Liked to know about that place and the area around it as well.

Another bit of info about Montana is that there was a Brotherhood presence at some point, as Lyons mentions it in Fallout 3. Although it's now being made NCR we don't know too much about Baja. Ronto is a big one for me also. Ashur says that the might of the Pitt is the envy of Ronto, so this may imply that they too have been building up a force. It would be an interesting place to see for a DLC in 4.

Actually, Lyon's desn't mention a Montana BoS in Fallout 3.

He lacks the scripts needed to get him to the cafeteria to give the speech that mentions the Montana BoS, and thus never actually gives it.
