Lore Questions: Morag Tong

Post » Wed Nov 14, 2012 3:53 pm

If a person is target by the Morag Tong and survives (by killing the assassin or surviving the attack or whatever), does the Tong send another assassin or is the Writ considered "done"?

If you've been targeted by the Tong, could you still find them and join? If so, would the writ on your head still be valid?

Can a member of the Tong sponsor a writ? If so, could that assassin carry out their own writ?

If you've been targeted by the Tong, you're pretty much dead. They will send more assassins until you have been sent to Mephala.

I don't know. there have never been any instances that I've hard of. Knowing their honourable nature, I'd say they'd honour the Writ instead of granting you sanctuary.

I'd imagine so. But remember, a Tong agent acting independently is looked down upon (and generally expelled and targeted).

I don't think that is the case, there is a quest in Tribunal where you take the place of an actor who is targetted by the Morag Tong, after you kill the assassin the director mentions the actor should be safe because the Morag Tong cost a lot to hire, that suggests that they'll only send one assassin unless you pay to send a second.

I know the Dark Brotherhood will keep sending people, but they're not the Tong.

Touche. But remember the number of assassins sent after Athyn Sareithi? And Mavon Drenim took several attempts to eliminate.

It may have been that the actor was safe 'for now' as the Tong would have had to reassess the situation, and find another agent capable or suitable to do the job.

True, but Athyn has some powerful enemies if they'd send 3 agents after him. It sounds like the agent was sent, failed, another was purchased, failed, and then a third.

Let's say a writ is put on your head by a rival businessman over conflicting trade routes. You survive the attempt by killing the assassin, and your rival doesn't have the money to send another assassin. Is everything over and done? After the attack, could you then go to the Tong, join, and sponsor a writ on the rival and carry it out yourself? Assuming the writ is purchased correctly.

Edit: Actually, if I were targeted by the Tong, could I then also sponsor a writ against the guy trying to kill me?
