I ? ES Lore. What's Your Favorite Bit?

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 12:43 am

Right now my favorite bit of lore happens to be Argonians (although I have a phase were each race's lore is interesting). I love the fact that they can practically be part tree (hist). That's pretty awesome.

What's part of ES lore are you most interested in?

I will never be at rest until I catalog the average lifespans of each race.

Well...what does it represent!? :stare:

OT: I like any lore that has to do with Lorkhan and his other aspects (Shezzar, Shor, Sheor, Sep).

I love anything to do with the Psijics and their Elder Way... Anyone that can jump a magical artefact of immense power across a continent, to an island that they can shape the geography of (and temporarily erase from existence) deserves some kind of certificate, in my opinion. :P

I like mainly the lore in and about Skyrim. Dragons are the ones that appeals to me mostly.

I like the lore behind Vivec the most even though he's at a bit of a loss right now and he's not in very good shape. Also I'm interested in the Tribunal's treasure of the Nerevarine and where he might have gone to after Morrowind. The Nerevarine has done so much for all peoples joining every which faction(or at least I believe he joined every which faction) and now in a way if I'm correct, he's now after Vivec....

I would love for the Dev's to release some kind of epic, detailing a battle between the Nerevarine and Vivec. It would be made infinitely more interesting, in my opinion, with some inclusion of CHIM in the whole ordeal...

Vivec/Vehk and his spear(!), Dunmer/Chimer history (incl. Tribunal, Red Mountain, Azura, Sixth House, etc), the spirits and their natures, and the more mythic/heroic elements (mostly MK's texts) - specifically The Five Hundred Mighty Companions or Thereabouts of Ysgramor the Returned, The Seven Fights, The Thirty-Six Lessons, and Lord Vivec's Sword-Meeting With Cyrus the Restless.

I'd love to get into a lot of the other aspects of a fantasy setting with the lovely minds here in the lore section, but sadly the aspects of lore that are established by, or mostly exist within the games don't appeal to me very much.

That's really all that needs to be said on the matter.

Ashlander Dunmer tribes.

Also Alandro Sul...I am wondering if there is a relation between him and Sul of the Keyes Novels.

Anywho...inherent badassitude awaits.

Favorite part about it? Pelinal was great. Cyrus is a [censored] BA. Vivec and his [censored] craziness. Need to read the songs of return in its entirety, but Ysgramor is getting there.

EDIT: Oh yeah, Hrol and his hillock fetish.

It's okay, Hellmouth. You don't have to pretend to like Shor to be cool.

Probably the Dark Brotherhood takes it for me, but a lot of the historical bits are good too. The Alessian Rebellion is always a fun one, as are the various Septim emperors. And I will never tire of learning more about CHIM and the Towers. :)

My favorite lore is anything that sheds light on the Dwemer. A close second would be to know the average lifespan of each race.
