Shor is the nordic interpretation of Lorkhan.

Also Shor is dead according to Nordic mythology. Sovngarde is for dead people, after all.

don't you get it? you are shor (probably) I mean shor isn't there when i stepped in, and all the nords are like talk to those dudes you saw in the scroll vision thing, and all the sudden i get to wage war on aludin. Seems like they couldn't fight because shor told them to stop, i walk in and they offer to fight with me...

I had the feeling the Dovahkiin was a mortal incarnation of Shor.

*cracks knuckles* Good thing my MQ character is going to bring back the bloody warlord side back.

I'm really not so sure about the Dovahkiin = Shor thing. It might explain how you killed Alduin (Sovngarde is your realm. Your dual-cast lightningbolt stunlock assault was only a small portion of your offense against the dragon god of time), but I think if you were Shor, and the heroes / Tsun realized it, they'd make a much bigger deal out of it. More than a subtle implication, at least. The Nords are straightforward rebellious people.

Really, I think the Nords are almost used to incarnations of Shor running about.

Also during the Late Merethic Era the legendary immortal hero, warrior, sorceror, and king variously known as Pelinal Whitestrake, Harrald Hairy Breeks, Ysmir, Hans the Fox, etc., wandered Tamriel, gathering armies, conquering lands, ruling, then abandoning his kingdoms to wander again.

I tend to think that these are all different avatars (Pelinal and Wulfharth are clearly individuals), and remarkably human ones at that.

Nowadays it seems like we take it for granted that every PC is a Shezarrine.

Which has managed to transform being a god into something almost boring.

The effect of man is to dilute divinity into mundanity.

It's not very glamourous. At least Vehk and Ayem looked cool when we met them. If I met myself on the road, I wouldn't think much of it.

I don't particularly like the idea. It only really fits in Skyrim.

The Hero is just an RPG staple. We don't need to wink at it overly much, even though there have been five of them now.

The effect of man is to dilute divinity into mundanity.

Good point, ancestors and giants and all. No wonder the Altmer want it to stop and Alduin is pressing reset. Who knows where it's headed?

You're onto something, hymantar. I could easily see the divines, and possibly by extension the Thalmor, wants man removed. If they keep making divinity into mundanity, then what's divine? Hrmm..Mundus = Mundane, perhaps?

Wasn't that the point of the whole project? The eight are worshiped by humans are pretty statist. Besides, there's movement in the other direction as well.

Either way, I see it as Shor's plan to break the line between the two. Though, I prefer the movement of Mortality into Divinity.

The Valiant Souls in Sovngarde actually explicitly state why you don't see Shor. They might be lying, but that's a different argument.

Not at all. *scurries off to an earlier save*

*comes back*

Ahem:

Shor's high seat stands empty; his mien is too bright for mortal eyes. --- Generic "Hero of Sovngarde" line
