Losing all saved data

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 3:52 am

So I have started a new game 4 times now and lost over 40 hours of gameplay. Each time I start the game will load the saves when I go to the main menu for about 2 or 3 days. Then I will open the game and there will be no loads at all, and my cloud storage only synced one time out these 4 instances at startup. Xbox support was no help, and I am at the point where I have given up since there is no point to start a new game just to have it dissapear. I live right near Boston so this game is very important to me. Any suggestions are appreciated as to how to either fix this for the future or force the xbox to sync the cloud saves which I assume must be there somewhere.

A quick question for you, because I've had the same problem, but only once (because I haven't had the heart to start over again). Did these problems start after you applied a system update? I had ~30 hours logged before I updated, and after the update, my save disappeared. When I talked to xbox support they walked me through clearing the cache and resetting the alternate MAC in addition to removing and then re-adding the account to force a save sync. The process goes like this:

1) Remove account (Settings>Accounts>Remove account)

2)Clear cache (Settings>Disc and Blu Ray>Blu Ray>Clear permanent storage

3)Reset alternate MAC (Settings>Network>Advanced settings>Alternate MAC>Clear alternate MAC

4)Reboot

5)Sign in and launch game

It should be noted that this process did not work for my Fallout game, but it did work for Borderlands THC, so it may very well work for you

Xbox support had me try those things and a couple others. None worked, the first time it happened was before the update, the rest was after. This latest deletion happened when I turned on my xbox today and it randomly set up as a new console after I've had it for a year. However every other game I have is perfectly fine, my NAT is set to moderate which I can't change and xbox support thought maybe fallout 4 required an open NAT to save to the cloud, but I highly doubt that. They seemed to know nothing special.
