There are a lot of 'unmarked' quests in NV. Often there's a note under Misc. that references them. You're not missing anything. Why they do this I have no idea.

And don't worry, it won't be long before you're likely to feel overloaded with quests.

For unmarked quest, you can always check http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Portal:Fallout:_New_Vegas.

For side quest and main quest, select a quest from the Pip-Boy and a marker will show up on your map.

Now I'm confused (an all too not unfamiliar condition :teehee: )

These appear to be mutually exclusive. Either you don't have quests, or you have too many to figure out where to go next.

Are you saying that you don't know how to manage your quests when they appear in the questlog?

Are you confused by unmarked quests that don't appear in the questlog?

Do you know how to select a quest in the log, read the reference telling you what is required next and then using the map to get there?

If you're unable to do/find/finish a quest because the game doesn't put a big red X on the map for you, I don't know what to tell you. I'm not trying to be mean....but sometimes you have to figure these things out on your own in games like this. The Misc. unmarked quests, they're like extra credit - they're not required for any main plot, do them or don't do them. Some of them are easy to figure out, some you can do right away, some you may not be able to do/get to until a bit later, and so on and so forth.

All I can suggest is to pay closer attention to dialogues, maybe write things down/take notes before rapidly clicking away from the text boxes. It might help with some of them.

You can't... Simple.

Unless a location was marked on your map. Read the Misc. Tab, find the quest, and look for some map marker that possibly relates to the quest and go there.

I don't know if this helps.
If you are asking about a lot of pop ups telling you about quests, you should..

Go into the PIP BOY ( menu. )
Click on the quests button.
Then scroll down to one you want to do.
Then click on it.
This will then set it as your active quest.
To change it again just repeat the above.

If no pop up is given on screen.
That means it is unmarked.
To do these quests you have to follow the dialogue in game.
They tell you what they need you to do.

Most of the good quests are not in quests; they're hidden quests. They are there but I can't do them because they're hidden. Loads of quests, but they're hidden. So they might as well not exist. Do you understand they don't have a location or direction in quests because it's like they don't exist.

Okay. We're trying to help you here, but you're not making it easy.

I am going to assume that English is not your first language, but some punctuation would make it easier to read.

I have some questions:

1. Is this your first Fallout game?

2. Have you played Oblivion?

3. Have you read the manual that came with the game?

4. How do you know you have a lot of quests?
.............4.a. Name a couple

5. Do you know how to use your Pip-Boy?
..............5a. Can you change pages from State to Items to Data?
..............5b. Do you know what a Quest Log is?

As for 'Hidden' Quests. There are not that many in the game (so I can't understand how you could have 'loads') and they are not major or important and they do not lead to major upgrades, loot or experience. If you didn't do one 'Hidden' Quest during your entire play-through you wouldn't miss much of anything.

i think i made it clear enough what i was on about ice car gave me the correct answer and the one i was afraid of.

you cant do the quests because it doesnt have a location for them anywhere in your pipboy they are hidden quests thats what i was afraid of most quests in the game are hidden quests that dont appear in quests i sort of worked it out for myself but ice car just let me know for sure that they are hidden quests.

why did the game make most quests hidden its stupid and totally ruins the whole point of having quests

What in the world are you talking about? All official Side Quests are marked in your quest log and have a Gods Arrow GPS™ marker telling you exactly where you need to go, it doesn't get any easier than that. Many people don't like how easy these games already are with such perfectly accurate quest markers and you're telling us it's still not easy enough?

Any quest that is a lesser quest and is as such unmarked is known as a free quest. There are many of these as well but they are almost always very minor in terms of loot, length, xp and so on. Of all the ones I've come across, only a very small handful have no information given to you in the form of notes / audio tapes / dialogue, and those are all very very minor ones. Look in your pipboy, there's usually said information of some sort to help you figure out what you need to do.

If you're still lost on quests and what to do and where to go well... I'm really not trying to be mean but RPG games might not be for you. All the points mentioned here is very basic quest getting and reading and understanding 'playing RPGs 101' type stuff.
