Losing Respect for Gaming News Sites.

Post » Mon Mar 24, 2014 11:38 pm

A certain video from gamespot did a video telling about launch times. That part all nice and good, but why did they have to back hand ESO over the sub fee? Can't they just give a rest already! :swear:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnxQijVkDuw

I did not "like" the video because of the un-needed back hand they did. :stare:

Who would honestly complain about paying $15 - A MONTH - lol. to help grow a game and community that you actively take part in.

I see people complaining about subscription and then complaining the game isn't polished enough.

People are unhappy with their lives, so they need to hate on everything. They like to make money, but when somebody else tries to do it they unleash their rage.

Most such "news" sites are about hyberbole and hyperventilation. It's just like other forms of media, really.

i dont know why people are so against it this time aorund. Its pretty standard for mmo practice. People that point GW2 really need to take a good look at what the "Buy to play" model did to guildwars 2 , its endgame and what is on the shop.

Generally once you've formed an opinion, you've picked a side, so show me an opinion that isn't biased

Is that to much to ask? Aren't they called themselves "Professionals?"

Heh, they've never been professionals, people involved in gaming, or most other things for that matter will inevitably form opinions, it's a shame that they like to spread it in a snivy manner.

Even gaming reporters are feeling entitled to play every game that is released for free. It's outrageously stupid, but it is a thing. Personally, I like the sub fee. It will keep some of the low life goldspammers and botters out of my Tamriel.

And Gaming news sites are all garbage these days. Even Gamebreaker is sinking, which is sad.

I being to like "in the basemant" type game new media, at they they seem more honest about their views instead of a more name brand Big sites are.

We all know that everyone has an opinion about everything. My problem is that on many of these sites, they sort of disguise opinion as news reporting, or like in this case, inject unwanted opinions in an information piece.

I won't name names, but what used to be my favorite site for MMO news has fallen into this under their new editor, and it has ruined the site for me.

Maybe there can be a goverment subsidy for all the scrubs that cant afford it ;) Ya im sick of this free mentality leeking into video games, not only that almost every f2p game svcks, they spend more time trying to nickle and dime you for everything its disgusting. ie neverwinter good example. I want devs to SPEND time creating new content and not trying to figure out new ways to screw people outa money, wich is what happens in every f2p game.

I think he was just trying to create a dialogue for gamespot to have about subscription fees to get some traction on the video. He was raising the question of if subscription fees are ridiculous rather than the fact that he thinks they're ridiculous.

In other words, he was trying to create discussion around the topic, and he succeeded as it spawned this thread and flooded the video's comment section with price related comments.

It's like flamebait with a high production value. :P

I do not have a problem if they made a video talking how they do not like the subs and another different video that just give the news.

What we got instead? News mix with they unrelated talk about something else. That mix is what frustrating.

money money money, moooonnnney!

For real, there are no respectable gaming sites anymore. They're all bought out and biased. Even if a site gave praise to ESO I'd be wary over it.

good point, but why a "negative" topic? Why Mr. Ford asked about the graphics or the "TES feel?" Why people focus on the negative some much?

is the grammar thing an act, or just non-native speaker? honestly curious.

On topic: You can't expect websites to just only cover the good of TESO. If you want that , check out those shoddycast guys, they seem to be all over up on TESO's ****. while I'm not really a fan of ign, bringing up a point (the p2p game in 2014) doesn't mean they hate the game.
