No No No!... I'm at a loss for words....

I can't start the G.E.C.K.

I know of the libvorbis.dll error so it's not that one... but it tells me exactly the same!? WTF?! I've searched the webs and it only ever explains the old problem... :/ I tried to reinstall- no luck.

PS: I tried the libvorbis.dll fix as well. Didn't work.

Thanks in advance, John Out

It would help if you told us specifically what happened.

What operating system are you using? That would help too.

Once again, we can't really diagnose your problem until you tell us what happened. "I can't even play the game" is horribly unspecific. Did Fallout 3 crash on launch? Once it reached the main menu? Was there some issue with the main menu? Was there an error message of some kind? With the GECK, what went wrong? Again, was there an error message?

More details, less spam and less cursing. This is a 'family friendly' website maintained by the game makers.

Since you have W7 and you want to use the GECK, do NOT install the game or the GECK in the default 'program files' folder. If you have another drive, install it there, or at the root of your C drive. (c:\games\fallout3\)

The GECK must also be installed in the same directory as your game was.

Yes, yes, yes, a'ight got it Willie.

Hmmmm... it is installed in the default folder now, but it's working... for now...

Should I move it then?

PS: When the error was there, It crashed upon double clicking on either FOMM, FOSE or the G.E.C.K. , after that it just displayed the regular "libvorbis.dll blah blah" message and nothing happened. Reinstalled and everything is fine... But why? Why did it go missing, I don't get it....

The moderators frown on it, so I was just giving fair warning for the future. ;)

Perhaps you actually did not have it installed in the correct place the first time. Who knows for sure.

Both W7 and Vista will give you trouble with the GECK and and mods you make unless you run as administrator, or move the install location OUT of the protected 'Program Files' folder structure.
