I didn't know her in person, but I always anticipated and esteemed her fair and founded mod reviews.
My heartfelt condolences go to her family and friends.
Rest in peace and farewell, Quatloos. I will miss you dearly.

I would cheer out loud when Lord Devil shut some ignorant or biased fool down and made them look like the pee-pants whining children they were, and while I thought sometimes Quatloos was a bit harsh (never knew they were the same person or a she, that makes it all the more horrible because she was one of the coolest chicks in the multiverse) I would love it when anyone would try to argue, because then it was on like Donkey Kong and some of the most entertaining stuff I've ever read.

Big shoes to fill, and a serious void in the TES community.
:(

RIP, thank you for all of your dedication and insight Lord Devil/Quatloos, you will be missed by many.

I never knew Lord Devil was Quatloos, and almost until my last correspondence with her, I never knew he was a she.

And when I learned she was Quatloos, I could only respect her all the more. Here was a moderator who genuinely cared about the community. She gave back more than her fair share and sometimes received little in return. She did more than enforce fairness and civility. She set the standard.

The thoroughness and the objectivity of Quatloos' reviews never ceased to amaze me. It was almost an honor to be reviewed by Quatloos and it was an even higher honor to have her vote. But not because she was Lord Devil (like I said, I never knew), but because her word carried weight and I respected her word. She genuinely wanted to see people improve their mods.

As a fellow moderator, I got to see a side to Lord Devil that many people never got to see--a side behind the harsh, no-nonsense exterior. She was very kind, supportive. She took me under her wing and encouraged me. I am privileged in this and that I can call her a friend.

Someone asked, how did she pass? I did not plan to say anything out of respect for her privacy, but now that the news is out--for those who genuinely want to know and care--she was diagnosed was cancer. More specifically, cancer of the pancreas. Please, if you are the praying type, pray for her family.

Lord Devil, Quatloos, I will miss you. Thank you so much... for everything. Farewell, my friend.

It occurs to me that it may be rather impossible for any one person to take up the mantle of so thoroughly reviewing and reporting upon so many mods. I really would like to encourage the community as a whole to step up and honor Q/LD's memory by taking up the work that she so graciously strove to accomplish.

That may be hard, but may I suggest a simplistic approach: list her Hall-of-Fame diddly-doo's on PES, or how many downloads she got, from other providers or hosters?
Surely, any [censored]-total number over 10k, has a sort of gold-trophy function

(just my brass-alloy farthing)

Cheers,

edit: Oops, missed that H, for farthing, on the 1st trial, need to proof-read a bit better  )

When Morrowinding, I always downloaded mods that she commented on positivelly and haven't ever been disappointed. Rest to your soul, Quatloos.

As a fellow Mod Reviewer,Moderator and Modder on another site I know the pressure of having to wear many hats. Some
people "myself included" like to keep our identities secret to avoid "Flaming or Being flooded with request"You could count on
her to do each of her duties with "fairness and honesty" It's a time consuming and as many said thankless job.My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. The Elder Scrolls community has lost a true "Queen" She will live on in our thoughts and
helped many modders by her input.Rest In Peace dear lady :(

As I read this today, I was immensely saddened. Though I did not no Quatloos/Lord Devil personally, I had always respected the honest critique of mods. I came to look for her critiques before d/l'ing a mod. I knew that I had a well made mod if the review was good.
She will be missed. Though I am no modder, I wish there was something we, who are "creatively challenged", could do to help.

I never knew LD as a modder just a Moderator (then again I'm new to modding and I never played Morrowind... only oblivion) though it still makes me sad to know she passed away...

I got to be friends with Lord Devil. I never asked why 2 names. But it made sense. She modded as Quatloos. Thought she posted reviews of mods at PES. She did it under Quatloos. I think it just made it easier as a moderator to stop the reviews as she had her own releases also. Than Moderator under Lord Devil so no one can say she had favorites. She was down to earth and had opinions but I never seen her play favorites. Mostly I remember though e-mails she was funny, very funny.

Both her fair, just, and detailed reviews of mods and her excellent work were truly an inspiration for me. I do wish I'd known her personally.

My deepest sympathies to her friends and family.
