Loss of a Friend

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 10:33 am

I've only just leaned of this tragic happening through the Oblivion boards.
After a long hiatus from this forum I had to return to pay my respects to a wonderful lady.

God Bless

I've just gotten back involved in Morrowind mods and modding, only to find this. How very sad! A helpful moderator, an insightful reviewer, and a good mod producer, whose work I've used for some time--and she's gone. I can only imagine if her energy and friendliness is missed here, what it must mean to her family. May she meet her future challenges guided by love and light.

...Say what? When the heck did this happen? How? Holy crap. This is just not right. Not Lord Devil!

...Well, this svcks. My best wishes to Lord Devil's friends and family. R.I.P Lord Devil/Quatloos. You and your great talent will be missed.

I didn't know LD/Q personally, and only just downloaded one of her mods today, although I remember reading her admin posts protecting the modders from unjustified votes and bad comments, and her reviews as Q. It feels odd, downloading mods and seeing her comments on the PES pages. It also felt strange walking through the house mod she made, knowing that the maker was no longer with us.

Well, hopefully she is someplace better and can actually visit Morrowind! :D

I'm awaiting the memorial mod, and will D/L and install as soon as it is released.

Rest in peace, Quatloos.

I knew her for years, though we haven't spoken for a while. I feel a little guilty that I didn't find out sooner, and that we drifted out of contact, but regardless, I remember her as a great person, full of life and energy even in her age, and an inspiration to me in a lot of ways.
Rest in peace.

Really sad, I have been a member of PES for almost 3 years now and I had always admired and respected Quatloos as a great reviewer and I took her opinions with the utmost consideration and respect. Lord Devil always made me smile the way she quickly administered the entire site. Together they were a force to be reckoned with and she will be sorely missed... Rest in peace...

As the days go by and i come across like an echo an old post by Lord Devil it feels as if she is still with us in a much more magical spiritual way.

I am a bit late to the thread but I certainly know that Quatloos was a great help to me and i am sure many many people here and in the general Morrowind community. I recall her being one of very few who actually thought my first mod was worth giving a shot and worth pushing forward if it was only for a short while. She actually took that mod and was going to try to fix it up her own way and possibly release it but i doubt that she ever got around to it, she said she probably wouldn't when she first asked if she could so.....

Much love Quatloos may your eternal rest be pleasent.

Well, I was the one who broke this sad news to APY. It took me this long to look up this thread and see what a wonderful tribute you all have made to my dear friend. By the way her name was Lynda, and she has four childern, all grown. I have been a friend of L.D for many years, since Morrowind Citadel, and we emailed every day to each other. I miss her very much on a personal level, and want to thank you all for your kind words. I will be sure to pass this on to her daughter.

Thank you all.

I had only known her for a small while and as quatloos.. I also assumed she was a male.. Its very unfortunate about what has happened, as Quatloos was a very good person and an interesting character.

Ohhh... wait is this the person who had to undergo a series of mysterious operations some time ago? I remember topics being made about it. I never really got it. This was before Oblivion came out. Hm.

Could be a different person, maybe someone knows who I'm talking about.

My sincere condolances, though. Always a sad thing when someone dear to us passes away. Rest in peace...

That's so sad. Quatloos reviewed the first mod I ever made on Planet Elderscrolls. I'm sorry to hear about this.

Wow, this is really sad :(, I haven't used any of her mods but she was the first one who left a comment on my first mod, when I saw that comment, it made me post this. Rest in Peace Quatloos, and good luck with the shrine guys.
