Lost my 200 dweller vault to a bug

Post » Sat Feb 13, 2016 5:45 pm

I received a phone call while in the middle of loading my v1.1 game. Now the game closes itself right after "Please Stand By." I tried clearing the app's cache, no help. Any way I can get my game and my $5 + tax back?

Contact google for a refund. Follow the trail Bethesda/Google give you or go here:

Copy/paste of the page details:

https://support.google.com/googleplay#topic=3364260

On that page, drop down the "refunds and returns" -menu

in there "problems with in-app purchases"

In there, go to troubleshooting first, or if you already tried every trick/option in the book, go to "option 2"; contact support

That link will get you to a form you need to fill out, including your receipt number from the purchase you made.

State clearly what the problem is and as always, stay nice.

From what I gather of the rest of the forums/feedback from other users is that your savegame got corrupted by the app not closing down properly. How could it, you got a call, right?

More that 1 user (including myself) is having these problems with the game, and so far the only thing to do is:

Make a backup. Use ES File Explorer (free in app store) and copy/paste your savegame into a safe directory.

If you have done so, replace your old file with the backup and all should be good, minus the lost progress of course.

However, you state that the game fails to load on startup, and I bet you would've tried a backup if you had one, so It's safe to assume that when you go check on the savegame it'll be 0kb.

And with 0kb there is no data to be salvaged....So sadly I don't thing anyone in the community (or Bethesda) will be able to help you restore your vault...

Good luck!

Where is the savegame located on the disk? Do I have to be rooted to get access to that directory?

On most devices it is here:

/storage/sdcard/android/data/com.gamesas.falloutshelter/files/VaultX.sav

If you use ES File Explorer (android) you shouldn't have to root the phone...

EDIT The X in VaultX.sav is replaced by 1, 2 or 3, referring from top to bottom to your savegames. If you have 1 vault, it's Vault1.sav.

Hope it helps.
