The Irish Federation Army has risen in southern Ireland after militia members found a pre-war military supply. From 2178 and on, the Irish Federation Army has been keeping the peace in southern Ireland and liberating towns from mutants and Ghouls. Their military consists of only two divisions - Infantry and Special Forces. So far, there have been no wars, no major issues, basically, everything has been running along smoothly.

The main way the Irish Federation Army gains intelligence is through what they always call 'Contacts'. The Contacts scout out areas nearby and feed information to the IFA. Often, officials from the IFA have to meet with Contacts to discuss information. The locations of Contacts aren't always near military areas, and sometimes in the countryside. Contacts also often live in huge stone castles or mansions from long before the bombs fell, which are often massive structures with intricate designs.

When a Contact doesn't respond to a message, the IFA sends small squads to the homes of the Contacts. Normally, all they have to do is let the Contacts know that they need to respond. The squads are normally infantry with a few Special Forces members. Soldiers are sent because sometimes there is danger, so they are equipped with standard rifles and sidearms. Because an official must meet with the Contact, the area must be safe(another reason they send squads first). Normally, the weapons aren't needed. But sometimes, there are complications.

The latest Contact is Fredrick McDonald, but he has not responded from a message. This is a struggle because he lives in an area called Kimallock, in between the two major cities of Limerick and Cork. He lives in a castle deep in the wilderness, and the castle is one of the largest in southern Ireland. Local lore says that his castle was a prison before, and has a very large underground dungeon. This makes things much more complicated, but the idea is that the Contact didn't get the message. Unfortunately this is not the case.

Things have been lurking around in the deep, large, damp dungeons for years, but were never released because the dungeon was never opened. The Contact had opened the dungeon and released what was inside, and his entire family is at risk. The IFA does not know any of this, though, and sends a squad to investigate the castle. The members of the squad are about to go through hell and back, if they can survive it.

This is where you come in. You are a member of the squad sent to investigate the castle, but you will encounter beasts mutated by radiation over the years, some things completely unexplainable. Some of Fredrick's family members have gone insane and will be completely hostile, and there are at least fifty people living in the castle. You will be equipped with only an assault rifle, 9mm pistol, and a knife to defend yourself. You will also be transported by helicopter, but other than that you have only yourself and your teammates.

The idea is to try to rescue as many people as possible and escape, but how easy or difficult it will be is dependant upon your actions and your attitude about the situation. The only true way to survive is to use teamwork and keep yourself together when you are alone in the dark. Radiation can get so bad in many areas of the dungeon that you will be required to wear a gas mask in order to protect yourself, but everyone is equipped with a gasmask.

Character Types:

Infantry - Equipped with a one-filtered gas mask, standard uniform and vest, and an M1 helmet. MP5 as primary rifle and 9mm Colt sidearm. Basic hand-to-hand combat training. Overall uniform gives excellent protection from sharp objects and harsh weather. Training intensity is at Low to Medium. http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/4593/58704342.png. Automatically starts with a flashlight.

Special Forces - Equipped with a specially engineered gasmask, the visor is red on the outside but provides normal eyesight from the inside. The respirator is thin and located on the inside of the mask rather than the outside, and requires no filters. The uniform is a blue camoflauge, and a vest is placed on top. The helmet is a standard pre-war military helmet. Special Forces soldiers are equipped with a .45 Colt-Manufactured Thompson and a Glock 17 9mm as a sidearm. Overall uniform provides weak protection from heat and sharp objects, but is average in protection from harsh weather and conditions. Standard martial arts training(from pre-war books) Training intensity is at Medium to High. http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/4778/a1aargle.png Does not start with flashlight.

For reference, I have no desire to become the Co-Leader, there are many other people who are better suited, my CS is a little weak, mainly cause I'm tired, so let me fix it up some tomorrow.

Name: John Marino

Ethnicity: White

six: Male

Age: 36

Appearance: Medium-length brown hair. His eyes are intense, but not necessarily pretty, they are a dark hazel. His face is ugly as well, covered in scars of previous battles, he has a rough beard as well, that he keeps clean, to an extent. He is a large man, standing at 6' 3", and weighing around 200 pounds. He is at the peak of fitness for a Special Forces Officer, and easily intimidates that weaker infantrymen.

Height/Weight: 6' 3", 203 pounds

Uniform Decals: The Special Forces insignia on one shoulder, and the Captain's bars on the other.

Weapon Decals: N/A

Soldier Type: Special Forces

Rank: Captain

Misc Items: Canteen, flashlight, spare batteries, rope, and a lockpicking kit.

Personality: John is a joker. He spends most of his days with the other SF soldiers, drinking and laughing at the recruits struggling through their drills. He has no mercy towards other humans, unless they're his soldiers, who he cares about deeply.

History: John's father was one of the original militia men who formed the IFA, and that has given John a lot of pull with the higher-ups. John lived a pretty good life, for a wastelander, he lived under the protection of the IFA military, and, since he was a child, longed to join their ranks. When John came of age, he was drafted into the Special Forces, no small feat for an average wastelander. He soon realized his passion for the military, for the structure, and for the pleasure of keeping the peace. John liked the authority, and wore the badge of the Special Forces soldier proudly. He served with them his entire life, and though he had gotten into quite a few small skirmishes with rebels, this castle was about to test his training.

Name: Jack Shepard

Ethnicity: Irish

six: Male

Age: 37

Appearance: Short white hair with green eyes, white beard. Pale complexion. Heavily muscled. Scar running across his throat from when his larynx was crushed in a fight.

Height/Weight: 6'3/210

Uniform Decals: Special Forces and Rank

Weapon Decals: N/A

Soldier Type: Special Forces

Rank: Sergeant Major

Misc Items: Flashlight/ Batteries/ Rope/ Canteen/ Provisions

Personality: Calm and collected, Jack will finish a mission no matter the cost. Does not care about the feelings of others and hates loosing.

History: Jack was born in Southern Ireland, both his parents were members of the IFA and his was expected to follow in their footsteps. He did exactly that. After training hard for seventeen years he enrolled in the IFA, training to become special forces. He did well all in categories, but he excelled at the hand on hand combat training. The training was in most cases harder than the missions they were assigned, that made Jack cocky. He was taught his place, when he fighting some mutants while liberating a town. Being too confident he foolishly tried to engage a mutant in hand to hand combat, the mutant crushed his throat with a board. Luckily survived and learned his lesson. Since then his has done many more missions, some easier than others, some harder. But he no longer charges reckless, always thinking before engaging. He was chosen as part of a squad to go check on a contact. Sometimes it easy, like the forgot to respond. But sometimes it's more difficult, sometimes there's violence. Jack is prepared for anything.

Zollum, you're infantry so flashlight doesn't count as a misc. item because you automatically start with one.

Name: Roy Maguire
Ethnicity: Irish caucasian
six: Male
Age: 26
Appearance: A bit thin. Has muscles but isn't ripped or anything. Forehead/neck length blonde hair and green eyes. His nose is always tinted red as if it were cold outside, face has pale yellow complexion. Small mouth and eyes. http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/696/a1asmthngbhndme.png
Height/Weight: 5'8, 178 lbs.
Uniform Decals: Rank symbol on left briast
Weapon Decals: The entire MP5 is woodland camoflauge.
Soldier Type: Infantry
Rank: Staff Sergeant
Specialty: Scout & Rifleman
Misc Items: Flashlight batteries, canteen of water, field rations, field shovel, flask of whiskey
Personality: Friendly but highly agressive in combat. No remorse for the enemy, but cares heavily for other soldiers around him. Always helps a downed soldier in the field.
History:

Roy grew up in the slums of Cork, his parents were peasants who could barely feed him. He lived in a small makeshift home, and went to school whenever possible. His father was a drug addict and his mother was a drunk, so he was constantly neglected. Roy often roamed the streets and hanging around places that gave out free food to poor people. After a while, his father's careless life caught up to him when he had a heart attack from doing several drugs at once. His mother beat him daily until she died of liver cancer. He was adopted by a military family who helped him get healthy and stronger and trained him to fight.

When Roy turned 17, he enlisted to the IFA and went through the basic training course where he completed certain exercises that made him perfect for a scout. He was also excellent with submachine guns and rifles, and he was also entered as a rifleman. He was involved in liberating many small towns from Super Mutants, and was often sent to Contacts. This time, he'll have to test his combat skills and wits in a place like no other.

If anyone hasn't seen what an Irish castle looks like(you probably have) then http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/3514/70930512.png an example of what I'm talking about might look like.

EDIT: Lol you were supposed to take out the flashlight not the batteries..

Please say something if the CS has mistakes :)

Name: Iain Scott

Ethnicity: Scottish

six: Male

Age: 19

Appearance: Buzz cut brown hair, but badly cut, shows a few bald spots. Tanned face, small scar on right cheek,

Height/Weight: Average height for his age, but smaller than everyone in the team, or even the whole army. Quite light in weight.

Uniform Decals: None

Weapon Decals(same as above): None

Soldier Type: Infantry

Rank: Recruit

Specialty: Rifleman

Misc Items(canteen of water, food, rope, journal, pencil, provisions, etc. limited to 5 misc items at a time. if you are Special Forces and want a flashlight it counts as one of 5 misc items, does not count as infantry.
batteries count as misc items): Batteries, water, food, bible, small medic kit.

Personality: Nervous recruit, like most recruits fresh out of basic training. Good at following orders, in a team discussion Iain would usually sit back and let them figure it out, he has a feeling they'll laugh at him. Bullied by higher up ranks and has left him without a smile for ages.

History: Born in Scotland, lived there with parents for a few years but things became rough. Rumours had it that Ireland was improving a lot, Iain's parents wanted the best for him so they decided to travel to Ireland. It was lucky they travelled to the South of Ireland because that's where the army and people were. When they arrived at Ireland the Irish didn't like it, his parents pleaded and said they would do anything.
Help was needed with the Supermutants and Ghouls so they enlisted his parents into the army, Iain was taken to an army barrack at the age of eight and was going to live there for most likely the rest of his life. Iain was not allowed to see his parents again.
He was bullied harshly by the soldiers living in the barracks, they expected him to make their beds and clean the place up before it was inspected. For years Iain had never smiled, his life was a wreck, he was too afraid to speak to the Generals or Commanders... Or anyone! Life went on like this for Iain for a few years.

Knowing he had to escape this life he enlisted into the army at the age eighteen, he trained for a year there. Iain was best suited to the role of a Support Gunner, he was decent with a rifle. However Iain was very fast and agile which made him a candidate for the Special Forces, but was too young for this, and considering the fact that he had never had any combat experience. It would take a few years for him to get to that level.

Now Iain finally gets his first mission, he is placed in a team with much more experienced lads and is to check out some castle. The mission is classed as minimum risk, but Iain is still shaky and nervous about it.

Quick question do the SF only have pistol's? or am i confusing a 45. Colt with something else?

Name: Shaun Bines

Ethnicity: British, Caucasian

six: Male

Age: 31

Appearance: Shaun is a fairly well built soldier with a full head of black hair and brown eye's. Has some notable scars the most prominent being on his left elbow from being shot.

Height/Weight: 5ft 11, 16 Stone

Uniform Decals: SAS emblem on each arm

Weapon Decals: None

Soldier Type: Special Force's

Rank: Sergeant

Personality: Hard Exterior to most but if you are friends Shaun will open up and be friendly and ready for a good joke. Will not be at rest in his own mind unless the mission is completed. SIDE NOTE - DONT PLAY CARDS WITH SHAUN

History: Shaun served in the post war S.A.S, he grew up with them from the age of 8 and joined their ranks when he turned 20. Things in england where pretty bad, especially London where the bombs hit hard, but there was one thing he looked forward to at the end of the day which kept him going, his wife Sarah a beautiful woman from the local town who puts up with his bad moods. Everything was fine until his last mission in England to get some smugglers in the west coast, A sniper shot at him which left him with the horrible scar on his elbow, but where the round had gone through his elbow it had lodged itself in his best friends head. Shaun was promptly captured in his weak state and put on a boat with the smugglers.

Arriving in Ireland the boat was attacked by the IFA and Shaun was freed, seeing potential in a member of the SAS they recruited him into their Special Force's ranks with the promise that if he served with them for a month they would find him a way back to England. Its now been a month and a half since that promise. This is the be his last mission before going home to his wife, its been said its a low risk mission but Shaun was always wary when somone said "Low risk" it almost never turned out that way.

Besides isn't that just a step above a captain? Though if it makes you feel better I can change it to Lieutenant.

Oh wait, if this in Ireland, wouldn't it be Commandant?

I'll just change it to Lieutenant.

So there are 7 people in this squad so far, and we have a Staff Sergeant, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain, Private, Corporal, and a Recruit, at most we should have 1 commissioned officer, and one NCO

.45 Colt Thompson is an SMG.
And there are only 2 officers, not a big deal, right?

The infantry gets an MP5, and an MP5 is light weaponry that shoots like 9mm bullets. Special Forces have a Thompson not from WWII, from before the bombs fell. And .45 is much more powerful than a 9mm. I also had to make it so the SF wasn't overpowered and had much downsides while Infantry was weaker but had stronger equipment.

With some help from his friend's father, and old war veteran by the name of James Casey, he learned how to use a real weapon. He frequently entered the house of Mr. Casey and, through Mr. Casey's stories, developed a fondness with warfare. When he was 19 he enrolled in an army. One of his first missions was an escort of one of the contacts who had an important message. He saved that contacts life. Thanks to that mission, and some outside influence from Mr. Casey, he was promoted to Sergeant First Class. This his 17 mission as a soldier in the Irish Army.
