Euan had noticed the recruit sneak in and wondered why he looked so depressed. Remembering that a depressed squad member was the most likely to let you get killed by mutants he let himself worry.
The castle looked like some sort of vampires lair and he wanted as many advantages as he could get.
" Recruit, where you from?" a happy squad member helped his survival chances

Kevin, now happy that he escaped that prison with rotors, stretched his weary body. Unlike most people, Kevin's stretches were needed in order for him to be at maximum potential. His stretches unlocked his diaphragm and expanded his lungs, opened his back and brought all his senses together. After holding for about five seconds he released, letting out a lung-full of air. Now, more relaxed and alert, he pulled out his M5 and began the short walk to the castle walls.

As he surveyed the scene he saw two soldiers standing by a flag in the distance. They could wait; for now I should find a cozy spot to check for any signs of trouble. With that he smoothly banked left and headed towards the dense scarcity that used to be forest.

Roy saw another soldier head off to the castle by himself, without orders. Roy turned to the others, still getting everything together, and then back to the guy who ran off. He started jogging over to the castle, following the other soldier. He watched the soldier walk along the walls and towards the forest. Roy quickly caught up, and came behind the soldier. He wasn't noticed, though. Roy put his hand firmly on the man's shoulder to get his attention.

"Hey," Roy shouted. "Keep with the group. Another thing, gas masks on. At least until we know it's all clear."

OOC: Pariah you :swear:

Kevin had his eyes focused on his new spot. It was a nook between the corners of the castles architecture. In that spot he knew he would be able to check both sides. Wait whats this? He spotted a cellar door to what had to be a basemant, except compared to the rest of the castles elegant boutique, it looked out of place. He was just about to change course, when he felt a grip on his soldier. He stopped dead. Instincts told him to dispatch whoever the hand belonged too, but he willed himself to remain motionless.

"Keep up with the group. Another thing, gas masks on. At least until we know it's all clear."

He recognized that voice, it was the soldier on the chopper who had asked the pilot something. He turned to face him. The guy was slightly shorter, definitely not six foot. He had pale skin and green eyes. Well that isn't a color you see every day. Kevin thought to himself. His eyes, did have a kind sparkle in them, but you could tell he was a man of honor. He was about to make a [censored] response when he noticed the ranking. Staff Sergeant, not much higher than his own rank.

"Well Mr. Maguire, sir, that's what I was doing out here. Just trying to secure the perimeter...Let me introduce myself." He stood up strait and saluted albeit a bit lazily, "Sergeant First Class Kevin Wallace. Glad to be here, sir."

Euan double and triple checked his MP5 it didn't pay to have faulty weapons in a place like this he saw the man run off and Roy subsequently follow him. Sgt Wallace seemed to have found a spot with a good view of the land but Roy had caught him and called him back.
"Keep up with the group. Another thing, gas masks on. At least until we know it's all clear." was the call. Gas masks? Worry set in again why would we need them in some castle?. He did as ordered and put on his mask. Then he went up to Roy and told him pointed out the spot with a good view of the area.
"Perhaps it would be wise to scout out that spot"

Cody gathered his gear together and slowly stumbled out of the helicopter. The castle loomed ahead of him, but he spotted some of his other squadmates standing by a flag pole. He walked over careful to keep his distance. He didn't want to conversate with these men. He had a job to do and although he was friendly, something about this mission caused him to be attentive to the surroundings around him. Cody simply sat down and observed the others.

"Well Mr. Maguire, sir, that's what I was doing out here. Just trying to secure the perimeter...Let me introduce myself. Sergeant First Class Kevin Wallace. Glad to be here, sir." Sergeant Wallace responded.

"Glad? Never heard that before. Listen, I think the whole rule that we have to wear gas masks is pointless, but it could save someone's life. You never know when you could find a massive pocket of radiation that could burn your lungs. We should be going through the front door first, if anything."

Roy turned and walked off. He then hesitated and turned back to Kevin, beckoning. Roy proceeded walking to the rest of the group. It seemed that everybody was all set to go. Roy jogged up to the side of the helicopter, on the pilot's side. He knocked on the window and got the pilot's attention. The pilot opened the door just enough to hear what Roy would say.

"Alright, everybody's out. We can take it from here." Roy told.

"No problem, I'll see you guys soon." the pilot said, raising the helicopter and taking off. Roy regrouped with the others.

"Okay, let's keep this nice and simple. We go over and knock on the door. The guy comes out and we tell him what's what. No snooping around, nothing. Other than that, follow captain's orders. Let's move out." Roy ordered to the rest of the squad.

Roy approached the front door of the castle and knocked loudly. No response. He knocked again, louder this time. Still, nothing. Roy stepped back and kicked the door in hard without warning. He pulled up his MP5 and looked inside the castle. The wall paintings were knocked to the floor, chairs turned over, and everything in a mess. Roy cautiously stepped inside the castle, checking the corners. Nobody was in sight.

"Hello? Anybody here?" Roy said loudly. Everything seemed to be safe so far. "Alright, everybody, it's clear."

Euan ran in behind Roy and noticed that the building looked ransacked everything was all in a mess. Strangely enough though no one had fired on them yet suggesting that this was either a quick raid which had been accomplished or that whatever it was remained here. He hoped like hell it was the former. Looking around he could find no further clue, checking his Geiger counter he noticed that he wasn't in the middle of any radiation pocket. Which was good. The team leader appeared to still have his mask on so he thought it wise to do the same to avoid any argument. No mutants yet but judging from the surroundings that wouldn't last.
He noticed something which looked like a holo-tape he hoped it had the answers. He pressed play prepared to hear something horrible but all that came out was some music. Euan decided it was wise to rejoin the group.

Roy could hear that the geiger counter another person was holding was silent, so he decided it was safe to remove the gas mask. He attached it to a clip on the side of his belt and proceeded into the next room, which appeared to be a dining hall. There were plates set up along each side of the long table, but the food was moldy and maggot-ridden. Apparently the food had been there for at least a week, though the message was sent to the Contact only four days before.

"Hey guys, I think something happened to our friend before the message was sent." Roy said to the others, examinating the room.

Roy looked around the room but noticed something under the table. It then began moving. Roy turned his MP5 to it and walked closer toward it. Then, a person emerged from under the table. It was a female, but her clothes were ripped and her skin was swarthy and covered in dirt and dust. She looked as if she hadn't been fed much for a while. One thing that caught Roy's view was a trail of blood going down the side of her chin from her mouth.

"Hey, guys! We've got somebody here," Roy yelled. "Don't worry, we're here to help."

Roy put away his gun and came closer to the woman. Her hand twitched, causing Roy to look to see what was wrong. She had a kitchen knife in her hand. Roy hesitated, but then attempted to grab for the knife. The woman screamed and lunged at Roy. Roy dodged, just enough not to get injured. He immediately brought his MP5 back up to aim, and had it pointed directly at her. The crazed woman lunged once more, but this time Roy opened fire and killed her.

Jack Shepard

We finally landed, I have no words to express my happiness of that moment. Humans were never meant to fly, never. Anyway focus on the mission, the mission. I looked around surveying the area, the trees were charred, it went perfectly with the sky. And the castle looked beautifully, in my opinion it was the closet a man could get to matching the beauty of nature.

While people were getting their equipment together, a man ran off into the woods. It was the same mistake I had made that had resulted in me almost dying. Another man, one of the infantry, went after him. Well that was good, didn't want anyone dying before we got inside. I waited for the captains orders, I was expecting the worst inside the castle.

Some people actually didn't have their gas masks on, Jack was determined to keep his on for the rest of the mission. Pockets of radiation could be lethal, and invisible. Finally someone signaled the pilot to take off and they approached the castle. They knocked but nobody answered, that was a bad sign. The same man you signaled the pilot kicked the door in, men rushed in behind him.

I was one of the last in, the place was completely ransacked. I looked around surveying the scene.

OOC: Damn, Pariah while I was posting you posted and completely ruined it, so sorry for it being lacking. I'll try editing it, but good chance I'll leave as is

OOC: Gah no I just had he best post yet and i misclicked and deleted everything!!!!!

Kevin was stacked in line and ready for the mission. He didn't knoew what was behind the door but as always, he was ready to put a bullet in something. Sergeant Roy knoced on the door. No answer. He knocked again. No answer. This time he knocked much harder. The door smashed open and he stepped in, shortly folowed by us when he said it was all clear. I lifted my gas mask then headed to the part of the room that hadn't been checked. Nothing on the bottom floor, so I headed up stairs. I just made it to the top when I heard Roy talking. I looked back, and saw a girl. She must not have been more than eight. She had blood running down from her mouth, she also had a knife. He lowered his weapon, the girl must just be scared, he thought to himself. There's no way the blood's from... She lunged at him.

"Christ!" He said aloud as he clumsily pulled the gun up to his eyes and aimed down the sights. Aiming for her hand he prepared to open fire, then she fell, dead.

Usually when one of the team got a kill he would be the to speak, but there was nothing to say. This was definately no longer a low-risk mission. He continued into the library, which was as unkept as the rest of the house. Books were scattered, pages ripped, and worst of all, there was blood on the floor. He walked towards it, and noticed that it was dried up, as if it happened a while ago. He followed the trail of blood as the stench of rotting meat grew. Beads of sweat began to meet at is forehead. In all honesty, he didn't want to face what was at the back of thw bookshelf.

He hurridly put his gas mask on to null the increasing stench. Slowly, he turned the corner and was mortified to see a body. The body was now rotting and the man's intestines were in plain sight. His face was in a permanent cry of pain, eyes wide open.

"Holy [censored]... Sergeant Maguire, get up here!"

Corporal Euan MacCarthy

Euan walked into the room where the man had been attacked by the crazed woman and searched around a where she had come from and noticed nothing. He examined her body and apart from the strange scar on her cheek she was completely normal. But looking at the far end of the dining room he noticed another doorway. Whatever was in the far room ,which from this distance looked like little more than a simple study, would possibly be useful. Euan entered to find a terminal sitting on a desk. He powered it up and it seemed to require no log-in to open. there was only three things on the screen.
-IFA recon mission Euan had already been briefed on that.
-IFA recon report but as it turned out that file was damaged so the mission had to go ahead.
- Map of the castle. This was the most important thing on the screen. He attempted to open it but it was also corrupted
" [censored]" he exclaimed now it would be difficult to find his way around.
. Another infantryman had removed his gas mask so he thought it would go without argument if he did so also. Happily he removed it. Gas masks were the most uncomfortable things out there.

Roy stared at the dead girl at the floor thinking about what he had done. Suddenly, the silence was broken when Sergeant Wallace called him loudly. Roy turned to the stairs and ran up to the second floor and then the library. A horrible stench was in the room. Roy pulled his gas mask down again and proceeded toward Sergeant Wallace. Roy pulled up his gun and slowly looked behind the book shelf. There was a dead body, mutilated horribly. Roy lowered his weapon but turned to Wallace.

"Who do you think it is? Can you think of who would have done something like this?"

Euan ran from the room when he heard people yelling to each other. Putting his gas mask on because he had seen the others do so, he ran upstairs to find a horribly mutated man. The blood was everywhere and combined with the rotting m,eat from downstairs he was happy to have his gas mask on. Roy and Wallace were already up there.
"Who do you think it is? Can you think of who would have done something like this?" the Seargeant said. It was clear from the way it had been done that it was no animal for it looked like a knife mark through the stomach. Though he was no forensic scientist. Damn he thought wishing they had brought a medic then we might have a clue as to what had been done here. This was what he had hoped against, a high risk mission.

"Who do you think it is? Can you think of who would have done something like this?"

As calm and collected as he could muster, he brought up the cellar door around the side of the castle. He explained how out of place it was compared to the rest of the area. "I figure its the only lead to something like this. Something also tells me that's where that girl came from, and she's the reason he's dead."

Kevin mustered up all thee courage he could and checked the man's pockets, first with his feet, then with his hands once he thinks he found something. He was ready to throw up in disgust when at last he stood up with an empy carton of cigarettes. Frustrated that he wasteed his time, he was on his way out when he saw a notepad, wrinkled and battered. Perhaps it belongs to the man. He walked to it and picked it up. The first page contained the man's name, age, contact, and place of residence in case it was lost. The next few pages contained things irrelavent to the mission. Halfway through the pad h found out that the person was in fact the contacts brother, who was here on visit. He flipped to the last page written. At first it was hard to see, since it was obviously rushed but after a few seconds of feeling stupid he spelled out basemant. His hunch was no longer a hunch.

"Roy, you need to come look at this."

Once again, Roy was called over. Roy went over and looked at what Kevin was holding, a notepad. He couldn't figure out what was written, but it was important. The rest of the castle was less important than the matter at hand, and the cellar might hold an answer.

"I think we should go check out that cellar on the side of the castle you talked about." Roy said, then leaving the room and going downstairs. He went where some of the rest of the people were. "Everyone, we're heading to the cellar. Let's move."

Roy opened the front doors and began walking to the side of the castle where he saw Kevin earlier. He searched around and saw the doors on the ground. They were made of thick wood and held together by metal. Roy came to them and wrapped his fingers around the handles and pulled. The doors creaked loudly, but revealed a stairwell going down under the castle. There were lit torches on the walls, illuminating the halls. He cautiously entered, gripping the MP5's handle tightly. Sweat ran down the side of his forehead behind the gas mask, anticipation rising.
