The main way the Irish Federation Army gains intelligence is through what they always call 'Contacts'. The Contacts scout out areas nearby and feed information to the IFA. Often, officials from the IFA have to meet with Contacts to discuss information. The locations of Contacts aren't always near military areas, and sometimes in the countryside. Contacts also often live in huge stone castles or mansions from long before the bombs fell, which are often massive structures with intricate designs.
When a Contact doesn't respond to a message, the IFA sends small squads to the homes of the Contacts. Normally, all they have to do is let the Contacts know that they need to respond. The squads are normally infantry with a few Special Forces members. Soldiers are sent because sometimes there is danger, so they are equipped with standard rifles and sidearms. Because an official must meet with the Contact, the area must be safe(another reason they send squads first). Normally, the weapons aren't needed. But sometimes, there are complications.
The latest Contact is Fredrick McDonald, but he has not responded from a message. This is a struggle because he lives in an area called Kimallock, in between the two major cities of Limerick and Cork. He lives in a castle deep in the wilderness, and the castle is one of the largest in southern Ireland. Local lore says that his castle was a prison before, and has a very large underground dungeon. This makes things much more complicated, but the idea is that the Contact didn't get the message. Unfortunately this is not the case.
Things have been lurking around in the deep, large, damp dungeons for years, but were never released because the dungeon was never opened. The Contact had opened the dungeon and released what was inside, and his entire family is at risk. The IFA does not know any of this, though, and sends a squad to investigate the castle. The members of the squad are about to go through hell and back, if they can survive it.
This is where you come in. You are a member of the squad sent to investigate the castle, but you will encounter beasts mutated by radiation over the years, some things completely unexplainable. Some of Fredrick's family members have gone insane and will be completely hostile, and there are at least fifty people living in the castle. You will be equipped with only an assault rifle, 9mm pistol, and a knife to defend yourself. You will also be transported by helicopter, but other than that you have only yourself and your teammates.
The idea is to try to rescue as many people as possible and escape, but how easy or difficult it will be is dependant upon your actions and your attitude about the situation. The only true way to survive is to use teamwork and keep yourself together when you are alone in the dark. Radiation can get so bad in many areas of the dungeon that you will be required to wear a gas mask in order to protect yourself, but everyone is equipped with a gasmask.

Roy held his helmet in his left hand and had his gasmask pulled up onto his forehead. His MP5 was on a strap around his sholder and his pistol held tight in its holster. Only a few yards away was the helicopter, nobody else was there yet. He began running to the helicopter and hopped in when he reached it. The pilot had a large cigar in his mouth and was wearing aviators, and noticed when Roy came in.
"Hey, you all set?" the pilot asked in a heavy accent.
"Yeah, don't ask about the others, I know nothing." Roy said, getting in a seat and strapping himself in. He sat his helmet in his lap and moved the gasmask around on his head. All that was left to do now was to wait for the others. Roy just looked out at the crimson-purple dusk sky.
