Lost Items in Megaton House

Post » Thu Nov 05, 2009 8:33 am

So, I've done almost everything possible in Fallout 3 and have been storing all my goods, etc. in various containers in my Megaton house. I disabled Wadsworth back at the first part of the game because he was so annoying. Recently, I made another trip to Point lookout to obtain more stuff, and when I returned to Megaton, Wadsworth had been activated and all the stuff in my lockers near the door and in my refridgerator were gone. I checked all the people and locations in and near megaton for the goods, but they were gone. In this game I am level 30 with the Messiah reputation. Has this happened to anyone else? BTW, the person who used to give me things - quit, and treats me with distain. However, my karma is high. I just can't figure this out.

You just encountered a somewhat rare glitch that causes the containers in the Megaton house to reset, making your stuff disappear.

Hopefully you have a saved game from not too far back - reloading that is the only way you'll get your things back.

Thanks for that info. I thought that might be the case. I currently have two fallout 3 games and 2 New Vegas games going. I did reset this particular game to an earlier copy and got my stuff back. I have almost every unique weapon in that container and lost them all. For a second there, I was panicked.

Glad it worked out for you. That's why you save, save and save some more when playing these games.

Far too many people show up here complaining that this or that glitch happened, and their last save is hours and hours of playing time ago.
