Lost Steel Claymores In The Inventory

Post » Sat Nov 14, 2009 1:17 am

Hi All

I have been playing the game for a while and i have just realised that my 2 steel claymores are not seen in my inventory. When i press the hotkey of claymore, it appears on my char's back and i can use it but they don't seen in the inventory and can not be repaired. I tried player.additem cheat but it didnt work. I went a shop and purchased another st. claymore but this didn't work either. There is no problem with other type of claymores or weapons. I want to learn if there is a way to fix this problem. The last save that 2 claymors can be seen in the inventory is quite an old one so i want to fix this problem instead of returning to last healty save. I was used to disappearing of things in the storage chests when i played the game for the first time long ago but this time i am using "no encumbrance fix" and carry my all stuff with me. I wonder if this fix is the reason or not...

Thanks

There's a known glitch that causes the game to not display the entire contents of a container (or your inventory, in this case) when there are a lot of items there. The items are still there.

The answer is to get rid of some of the stuff you're carrying.

What glargg suggested is the first thing that came to my mind as well. Even though my character has a house and doesn't collect much stuff (except clothes), she spends a lot of time on the road so carries most of her stuff with her as it sounds you do. What she does though is spread her load around (she has to cuz her puny strength is forever 30). To help with this, she carries two bags inside her inventory to help organize things. Her horse is also equipped with two sets of saddlebags, and that helps a lot with helping her carry some weight. My point is, she makes sure she doesn't put too many items in any single container or her inventory.

I collect all the daedric items I find on my highest level character, and the same thing happened to me with one chest in the battlehorn castle master bedroom. I put all of my daedric stuff in one chest in like the secret back room of the bedroom and the bows would always disappear. Didn't happen with anything else though, not even glass bows which I had more of

I have problem with this but usually repair hammers or soul gems. Have had weapons disappear from chests. Solution is to use multiple chests, might want to put unique/ enchanted items and default ones in different chests.
In the inventory clean out scrolls, notes and keys, store notes and keys in a chest. Do not carry around lots of magical rings or scrolls you have no use for.

After reading the answers here i started the game, loaded my last save and started to throw away the things in order to understand if reducing the number of the items in the inventory will really work for seeing my lost claymores. I threw almost half of the items in the inventory, closed and re-opened inventory but claymores were still not seen. I saved the game, quited, re-started, loaded the last save, checked the inventory and claymores were there !!! I thought that you were right and one of the items that i threw was blocking the claymores. I deleted my last save (which i saved after throwing the items), loaded my latest save (in which claymores don't seen) and claymores were not seen as expected. Then i fast travelled to Imperial City to sell some of the items to see the claymoress in the inventory but surprisingly, without needing to sell anything, claymores were seen in my inventory. I didn't understand how it happened but my problem was solved...

Thanks for the answers
