Lost Ed-E!

Post » Sat Oct 30, 2010 10:33 pm

I finished the boomer quest where you have to get rid of the ants (Ant Misbehavin I think it's called) and turned the quest in finished it all that. After doing another quest I realized Ed-E wasn't with me (Boone was though). So I checked my map and saw he was outside the Nellis Array. So I went there and followed the little icon and my eyebot is nowhere to be fount :o. Apparently I am looking right at him but I don't see him. I still have his perk.

I tried the vault 22 elevator trick.
Tried waiting 3 weeks in game
Went to lucky 38 went in the penthouse walked back outside waited 3 weeks and Boone returned home but Ed-E is still at Nellis.

Now I can't even get Rex :(.

Any workarounds?

I'm assuming you fast-traveled although you didn't mention it. At this point, I would fast-travel all over the place constantly in the hopes that something would click and he'd reappear. Maybe there will be some kind of "companion check" that will work. Before the patch, I had trouble with ED-E and Boone out at Nellis. They just froze in place near the railroad tracks and wouldn't follow. Good luck.

Sad to say, the same thing happen'd to me. Dead wind cavern, fighting off a horde off deathclaws. I tried all the trick's including the vault trick, resurrection, move to, etc but never did get him back. I gave up in the end and re-loaded a preveous save. Lost all the progress I had made but at least I got him back.
It does indeed, svck.

If you are on the PC you need to know which ED-E you have. Here are the three RefIDs:

1. Original ED-E = 0010c769
2. Follower's fix ED-E with new cannon = 001694E2
3. BoS fix ED-E with new armor = 001694E0

First type: prid
Then type: moveto player

If that doesn't work try: player.moveto

Using the "Disable" "Enable" "Kill" "Resurrect" sequence is a last resort.

We're on the borderline here in General Discussion. This should probably be moved.

There seem to be two threads with this same subject . . .

More often than not, everyone cries "bug" or reload or go to Vault 22. Most likely, you left him somewhere INSIDE.

If ED-e is inside a building or room, he will show up on the World Map, but won't show up on the local map until you are also in the same interior location he is. Track him down with the World, then systematically search out all possible load rooms. Granted, it could be a bug . . . but probably isn't.

Actually, there are many threads on this subject :whistling: These just happen to be the latest. they won't be the last :spotted owl:

Good point.

Usually companions will open inside doors, and warp through access points when necessary. I just discovered a rather unique location though where a key card is required and, unlike most locations, the door closes behind you. If the companion isn't fast enough to walk through with you, they get locked out (or in, as the case may be.)
