"Lost to the Ages" Taron Dreth

Post » Tue Jan 26, 2016 9:22 am

I have been playing Skyrim since shortly after it was introduced . I only found out about the on going quest of "Lost to the Ages" with Taron Dreth. In all these years I have never run across this npc. I have spent several real time days trying all suggestions to find him and traveling around Skyrim. Is there any way to activate this part of the quest by use of the console even though it is suppose to be random ? :unsure2:

Respectfully,

Did you "lose" your previous thread?

Hagar, sorry, but everything I've found states that this is a radiant quest, it could happen anytime or anywhere. Also, as it is for a named NPC, trying console commands to bring him to you can and probably will do bad things to your game. If the suggestions from your other thread haven't worked, I see no other choice but to wait. It's not a requirement for any other questline.

Taron Dreth was introduced to the game with the addition of the Dawnguard DLC. He appears ONLY after the player has completed the "Aetherium Forge" quest line. After that completion, his appearance is a random event, and as far as I have experienced, always out in the countryside. The interaction with him is little more than an Epilogue after "The Aetherium Forge's" THE END. A last bit of sweet justice for Katria.

Yes, and the OP has said, in another thread he made of the same subject, that he's completed it but never met Dreth. He wants to just do it, but I don't see how he can without causing possible/probable game problems.

If I were to guess, I would say that every time the player goes into the hinterland, there's a @5% chance that Dreth will appear. If the player focuses too much on fast traveling from one map location to another, he isn't giving the program the opportunity to activate Dreth. Dreth NOT appearing is just a matter of a long string of inadequate die rolls. The solution is to cause the game to "roll the dice" a LOT more often. Go out for llllooooonnnngggg walks away from any trace of humanoid kind.

Yep, I pretty much agree with that.
