Lots of bad people in Skyrim

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 6:36 am

Unless you're close to a town, everyone you run into in the wilds of Skyrim is going to attack you. Aren't there any nice people? I found some on the quest to get the sapling, who then died when the spriggans attacked (what's his name never spoke up) and everytime you run into a fort it's inhabited by bandits, necromancers or worse. This brings up an old complaint I had with Oblivion - all the forts are ruined and full of baddies. It would be nice to see a functional fort run by Nords or the empire once in a while. -end beef.

I read somewhere that they said that their dlc would take place after the mq was completed a la fallout 3. This interests me a lot since that would mean that they're expecting experienced players only and that would mean some ramped up bad guys and a higher level of loot. Hopefully it also means some more complex quests (also like FO3). While some of Fallout's dlc felt tacked on, with a bit of luck they will be lore heavy extensions of the story (epilogues rather than tangents) and they'll develop the tale of Skyrim. We'll see.

Cept that you can finish the main quest in a few hours and only be about level 10... if that.

I've run into plenty of people who don't wanna kill me, even met some nice guys who gave me some mead and partied with them for a while.

I suppose that's true, but how many people actually do that? If I were in charge of things, you would have to be at a certain level before you could complete certain missions, but I would do by including higher level baddies rather than a message from god saying "you have to be level x to continue'. But sadly, I'm not in charge.

Nice people tend to stick to the roads, so if you go via wilderness you won't bump into them. There are some camps/etc that have non-aggressive people like hunters.
Spoiler
Also sometimes you may bump into that really old cat, M'aiq

Do hunters respawn? Because I've killed off most of them for their food and gold.

This. I think I find equal amounts of bad and good people out in the wilds. I even partied with some people like this forumer just stated. I actually think there's more friendly people here than in other games though there still is the significant amount of bandits.

Well, its better than oblivion anyway. At least we now have hunters in camps and farmers strolling along the roads :) though they are quite rare. Hunters are quite common though, i always hear them shrieking to the deer which they obviously cannot catch. And its kinda hilarious :celebration: along with their miserable archery skills.

Yeah, I can't remember where I read that, but I think it was a pete or todd comment. You don't have to believe me because I'm not a 100% sure of it myself, but I hope it's true.

That sounds pretty sweet tbh.

I hope they make new exterior cells.

So you wonder where the nice folks are, but you've going around killing the hunters? Well, maybe that's your answer as to where the nice ones are--you've killed them. :-)

Guards are nice (if you don't have a bounty. Pilgrims and soldiers are OK. And skooma dealers.

I believe that's the case after you clear forts out--they get occupied by either The Empire or the Stormcloaks.

Kind of odd that they don't have a few already, though.

Hunters, soldiers, vendors, kakeet caravans, orc fortresses, nobles, special NPCs, Mai'q, thieves, companions, vigilants of Stendarr, Thalmor, drug dealers, couriers, farmers, miners, travelers whose home a dragon destroyed and even "race" named NPCs, not to mention more specific encounters, like non recorded quests. No, the roads are far from being depleted of non aggresive NPCs.

Let me give you the basics of TES DLC...It never relates to the main quest. It always completely separate, utterly and completely, from the main world.
