Lots of item loading errors

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 8:09 pm

At first, it was just a netch leather cuirass, It was no big deal. I was recently attacked by a Dark brotherhood assassin, and I got a "cannot load item, continue running executable?" error message for every item, and he was basically just a big yellow blob

Anything I can do?

You're using Vista or Windows7 right?
Installing the game in Program Files causes all sorts of problems. The easiest/fastest method of correction is to just http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/781497-vistawindows-7-problems/page__p__11352753&#entry11352753

I'm using Win7. My question is, what if that doesn't fix the issue? For instance, I use the mod "World of Faces" by GhanBuriGhan, I use the .esm version (if you have any idea what I'm talking about). I've reinstalled it and MW, and the thing still has mesh and texture error messages... and it seems to me they are becoming worse! I walked into Balmora Mages Guild, and Ranis Athrys' head was gone - it was there yesterday! My WinXP laptop had no such problems, and I originally took the zipped archive from it's Downloads folder, and installed it on the Win7 desktop to a non-Prog Files location. Thinking maybe the 7zip was corrupted, I re-DL'd, but the problem persists.

I don't know if this should be it's own topic, it matches the title, so far as I can see.

@Tryannus: I suggest that you should reinstall the World of Faces mod again. Btw... I don't know if you're using http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1068986-wrye-mash-thread-5/ (python based) or http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1106095-wrye-mash-stand-alone/ (non-python), but if you do it's highly recommended to install mods in Wrye Mash and sort out your loadorder with http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1083121-relz-mlox-a-tool-for-anolyzing-and-sorting-your-load-order/.

If you need any help there is always someone who can assist you in these threads. :)

Are you using any armor or other mods that's adding armor to the game?
If so do you have http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1083121-relz-mlox-a-tool-for-anolyzing-and-sorting-your-load-order/ and http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1068986-wrye-mash-thread-5/ (python based) or http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1106095-wrye-mash-stand-alone/ (non-python) installed?

Do as Pluto has suggested and get these tools if you don't have them, before you install your mods again along with both Wrye Mash and mlox. :)

I'm having exactly the same problems with Vista - Morrowind plays perfectly OK but once Tribunal is installed, I'm getting the same error messages as described above.

I'm embarassed to say that I don't understand how to implement your suggestions about changing the install location on my new laptop. Please can you go into slightly more detail regarding how to fix the problem.

Many thanks.
