Louis Letrush Bug - They're everywhere!

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 8:46 am

I have a problem, you guys.

http://i43.tinypic.com/zjawcz.png

This is the ugly sight that greets me every time I leave Whiterun. Horrible. It's Louis Letrush, multiplying quest-mob extraordinaire. At first there was only one. I didn't really pay attention. Then there were two, then three, and I finally started to wonder who the heck these guys standing by my horse were. Now they are all there, all the time. I just completed the battle to defend Whiterun from the Stormcloaks, secretly hoping that a couple of them would be killed off, but no. Those little rats survived.

What am I to do? Should I just kill two of them? Or maybe all three, just in case? THEY ARE DRIVING ME NUTS.

I tried killing them, they just stagger and replenish health soon after and continue going after you. I currently have five of them standing outside stables and guessing as I keep playing there will be more and more of copies.
Quite annoying to be honest, hope they patch this soon.

I've got one stuck in the ground, one standing, and I saw one Louis get murdered by a thug miles away close to Markarth. It's amusing, but really needs to be fixed!

Well, if you have the PC version, you could try disabling some/all of them with the console.

I have two standing eternally in front of the Whiterun Stables.

I saw the original get beat down by a Thug in a random encounter.

I've seen him cut down by an Orc twice. Once up near Falkreath and a second time near Dawnstar. There is still one standing outside of Whiterun. :P

Happened to my sister too :D I haven't seen this, mostly because I never actually do anything outside whiterun, I just travel right into the city.

It's nothing new though, I guess it's the same old script haunting us from years back? (or does my memory fail me, I remember this problem was in oblivion and fallout 3 and even new vegas by obsidian)

I talked to the smith in the first village in his house, then walked outside only to see him coming at me and going inside the door.

...
I've left that village alone since then...

I have bad experiences with dopplegangers in RPGs. :P

Simple to fix. All you have to do is stand next to them and open your console. Using your mouse just click on the one or more that you don't want there anymore and you will see an NPC ID come up like this "( ff0017da ) or something to that manner. Once he is selected just type in "disable" (without astericks) and POOF! hes gone! Hope this helps!

In my case, I have 2 and a Half Louis's

http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/612716989611604178/20A07D7B131841AC5759A18D183EEBBED5D7C227/

Not sure if it's related, but a dragon corpse also appeared next to Louis. This is from a named dragon killed in a different location who had transformed into skeletal remains previously, but now appears with skin intact.

I'm up to 2 and a half as well! I originally had 1 and half, went to a remote location and waited for 4 days, came back and was up to 2 and a half. I'm glad it seems specific to a certain character. I was worried that it was an early sign of save file corruption (or is it?)

I just have one, but he's stuck in the ground. But since it seems to be specific to him, it makes it easier to find the offending code.

That has been happening to me too. Every time i enter Whiterun there are two Alik'r guys standing and the gates. At first i thought that it had to do with the quest "In my time of need" but i have already completed that. I dont know why they are there and they wont talk to me . Any ideas ?

I had this happen to me too, but now I am on my second character and I completed that quest differently this time and those 2 Alik'r guys are gone. Assuming you wiped out the kematu's den like me the first time.
