I love Fallout 4

Post » Thu Jan 21, 2016 8:52 am

Instead of moaning about settlement issue I want to praise Bethesda for their Elder Scrolls/Fallout games, they are the best games for exploration, simply no others compare really, The variation of content, enemies, locations, random events, weapons, quests, freedom, items, etc is wonderful. Bethesda also give free license to modders to do what they like, again no other game series offers this level of execllence in their games. Bethesda are the best, pure and simple.

And most people who are complaining about the game seem to forget that it isn't even finished yet, on top of the regular updates, they will eventually include more than just fixes, new features are sure to come. Not to mention DLC, something Bethesda should be particularly proud of their history with, it's going to be so vast.

I agree I think Fallout is an absolutely wonderful game and it's only about 60-70% complete. Imagine what it will be like 18 months from now when all of the content is released!! I'm sure it will be staggering.

It really is a fantastic game with so much love put into it and the settlement addition is an awesome addition despite its many head aches plus It's only been out a month so i'm confidant we will see those head aches resolved soon.

I can't stop playing this game, it's too addicting. I don't even want anything else for Christmas, because this game was basically it. :P

I'm loving every minute of it. I have no complaints other than super nitpicks and I forget 99% of them when I'm actually playing the game.

haha well I'm a fan of New Vegas and would love Obsidian to make a NV 2 in the gap between Fallouts 4+5.

The thing that always set Bethesda apart for me was when I first got fallout 3 it was my first proper sandbox rpg, I fell in love with it and bought all the dlc, I got an email from Bethesda saying thank you for purchasing all of the dlc here is a free fallout 3 theme for your xbox. Never had that happen before or since.

Agree, I'm far too busy enjoying myself to care about design choices I dissagree with, take it as it is. My favourite Bethesda game so far.

I love it too. It's all I've played since release day. I stay up late every night playing it and spend each work day counting the hours until I can play again.

This exactly.

There is some complaining (altho there is some constructive criticism too and bravo to those posters) going on on forums, but to those who complain I say this: if you don't like some aspect and you think it could be better: mod it and please share the mod.

Here too, except that my only real complain is the dialogue system. I see weak dialogue as an direct effect of it.

Yes its some minor stuff, mostly with settlements but this is things who is easy to fix or mod.

Combat is good, exploring is fun, its rare to get fear of heights in a game but I do at some locations in FO4.

main quest is good, has not finished it yet, will probably do in a few days.

Fact: been dumping so many hours into FO4 xD; haven't touched anything else since it was released so i obviously love it

good stuff first:

-much more immersive (weather, graphics, etc.)

-really like the new layered armor and weapon mod system (sure more work could be done here)

-i like the new settlement idea (again, a lot needs to be ironed out here)

-gunplay/combat is great and love the new explosions

-i like how there's many more random events, i never use fast travel and walking/running never feels removed, everywhere i go there's suspense

-i like the new companions but feel some work can be done here

-really like how they did the open world, big, not huge, but dense

-really like the new Perk tree concept; i think a little bit more work needs to be done on the details here, but like way more than previous skill system

-new VATS is really cool even tho i dont use it

my biggest gripes:

-new crit system (still dont understand where the hell they got this mechanic and why they put it in...did someone's nephew need a job or something?)

-dialogue options (not to be confused with the mechanic, i really like how the conversations work, they are much more immersive and dont pause the game)

-i like it how before dialogue options would be dependent on many of the different Special stats instead of JUST charisma; again this might go back to previous statement, but dialogue options are just so much worse on multiple levels, this is something i can live with but i completely understand a lot of the gripes about this and how there's no RP at all anymore

This is my first Bethesda game, and really my first game like this at all.

I am simply awestruck at most of it, and i'll happily buy every bit of DLC they put out for it.

I'm no apologist for game companies- hell, I bought Fallout 4 and Star Wars Battlefront on the same day.... and I think I've spent maybe a total of 2 hours in Star Wars.

Very impressed.

It does not help bathesda to improve the game if we just say "I like that its an open world, I like the better graphics, and all the easter eggs they put into the game for me to find" its a lot more effective to point out the glaring issues for them to work on, that's why suggestion boxes don't have compliments in them, they have constructive critisism.

xD i preordered both these games back in like August, i was hooked on FO4 and didn't even bother to check status of SWBF release xD

however, i did keep up with reviews of SWBF Beta and after release and after realizing that it was a completely broken piece of garbage, i tried to return it, but despite the fact i hadn't even downloaded it or requested the code, they would not let me

FO4 and SWBF aren't even comparable...it's like comparing a Ferrari with a pile of scrap like you see laying around the wasteland because SWBF has no content and is broken xD

i am now boycotting EA (been buying their games since BF 1942)

EA are criminals, DO NOT BUY SWBF!!!!!

I'm still trying to decide what to do with my code...been thinking about just publishing it on youtube or something xD

There are plenty of other topics criticizing the game, or parts of the game. If the members want a topic just to praise what they enjoy. so be it.

I love Fallout 1 & 2, and I love Skyrim and I love Fallout 4. Fallout 4 is not like Fallout 1 & 2, I'd say it's a different game but I still think it's great!

So it's possible to love two different developers! :)

I love both Mass Effect, Dragon Age and Witcher too btw. So make it 4.

I love all the small mini quests hidden around, art design, very immersive places and characters. And all the improvements taken from mods for Fallout 3,NV - like companions behaviour, scavenging, weapon/armor modding, a lot of hideouts where you can live and RP wastelander, caravan router. Also inspiration taken from FPS - it seems like in Rage the enemies have the same AI while shooting.

Only if they would put the same love into the main faction optional quests and make more of interactions with hostile factions and it would be perfect for me.

I really love the game too.

It's helpful to remember that all the games had forums filled with complaints on release. Yes, even the sacred cow of New Vegas.
