No Love For The Imperials?

Post » Fri Sep 16, 2011 5:34 pm

Why is there so many no love for [insert race here] threads popping up lately? I feel as though these threads are made just to incite fictional race wars.
OT: The reason most people...well me, really....like argonians and khajiit is because they aren't a race that they already are IRL. But some people like to be humans in fantasy games and there's nothing wrong with that. Honestly when you get the game, it's YOUR game you should play it how YOU want.

Well people say they are LIKE americans for the coming over to the other parts of Tammy (Yeah c wat i did thar) and taking over or something like that. Plus Americans got some of their laws from the Greeks.

Nah, the are not Americans. They are like Romans or Greeks, who also conquered lots of lands (more than Americans, obviously). In addition, Greeks are the roots of western culture, so some laws of America being inspired by Greek laws is not something exclusive or surprising.

No not at all! I made this thread because I usually play an Imperial and I find absolutely nothing wrong with Imperials, on the contrary I always play as one in my 1st playthrough. But it seems that not many people play them/many people avoid playing them and I just wanted to know why they do this, to see if I'm missing something concerning Imperials.

You may have a point. I couldnt deny that they look a little mestizo, but they definately look more mediterranean. Greek, Roman, Spanish, Pheonecian, whathave you. Also, they definately lack the indigenous American appearance that would aid your mestizo theory.

Actually upon looking at them again. I would say there is very little mestizo in them. Most mexicans I know dont look anything like that, and I know a lot of mexicans (granted, there are other mestizos, but). I do however know a few greeks that could easily resemble them.

They look quite Mediterranean, I suppose. The only thing is that they are veeery dark skinned (when I look at them, they remind me to Romani people). I would like them to have more angled faces, more... Roman-esque, you know. More like http://romanencyclopedia.wikispaces.com/file/view/caesar.gif.gif/31752737/caesar.gif.gif.

Why not? They oh-so-obviously did this to appeal to America's growing Hispanic population. In the Imperial presets, you can see Johnny Depp(Part Cherokee), "Machete"(Dammy Trejo), etc.

You know that Cherokees have nothing to do with Hispanic people, right?

About the topic, I like Imperials for my knights, but first I'll play as a Nord warrior. Then, a Nord bard... and later, or at the same time, a Breton battlemage (my favorite one).

How about the other 7 races?

I've never been a fan of the beast races either, but Imperials are my least favorite of the Men/Mer.

Same! :)

Nope not missing a thing including Imperials....at least not to my knowledge. But I guess Imperials are pretty unpopular due to their painfull "normality" in a universe filled with magic, beastmen, and mythical beasts. My apologies for the harsheness of the opening of my previous post just normally these type of threads spark race wars and the bickering instead of OT discussing sort of makes me http://mylittlefacewhen.com/f/463/

My first character is always of the race that i think fit the setting best.

Like Morrowind i played a Dark Elf.
In Oblivion i played an Imperial.
And in Skyrim i will play a Nord.

I like all the races in ES, so i pick the race i play by the setting of the game.

Imperials might be suffering Steve Johnson disorder, I guess. Not even remarkably average like John Smith. But I've considered playing Imperial.
