I love the Brotherhood

Post » Wed Jan 13, 2016 10:31 am

I did one of the 'Feed the Troops' missions last night, Oberland Station is now under BOS control so I'll let let that play out a while then once I'm sure its truly under their control and they wont have me going picking up groceries or anyting dull from it I'll do the rest.

As I've not spoken to Pooface Gagahead at Sanctuary yet but have finished the game for BOS it'll be interesting to see how he reacts.

Will he have me try to take back a BOS settlement?

Will he care?

Will I?

lol

Brotherhood rules, even if Cait seems cold on them.

No, said black man works for ME. He named ME the General, so I reassigned him. He's clearly useless as a squad leader, so he's at The Castle manning an artillery gun. If I need his help, I'll toss a smoke grenade; I'm running the settlements just fine without his input :)

And I took away his cowboy hat. He can just wear military fatigues and combat armor, like the rest of my grunts.

Better than taking orders from a boring guy with a stupid haircut who has no idea what he's doing.

I find the brotherhood more boring to be fair, it's just more of the same from previous games

You're forgetting about Nick Valentine. Diamond City has proven that they can be open due to allowing Nick in their city. Even the guards will comment something like "You're hanging out with Nick? He's a good guy, ya know."

I feel others might be able to come in if they can prove to be helpful to the city and it's citizens like Nick has... Brotherhood on the other hand aren't open at all. Maxson himself will HATE you if you come onto their ship with Nick. (Funny thing, murdering Brotherhood Knights is something that Nick doesn't care about but stealing from the Brotherhood? Nick dislikes that). Hell, Maxson will want Paladin Danse dead, despite their relationship, during a Brotherhood quest...

And again, Brotherhood follow a strict set of rules and beliefs that they follow without questioned or at least suppose to. They also have a strict thing against people who doesn't want to be with them as it seems they follow the idea that if you're aren't with them, you're against them. And I'm not even touching on how they treat the Commonwealth settlers.

I honestly believe that they would totally destroy Diamond City, just because of Nick living there. They might try to talk the Mayor into arresting Nick but I honestly don't think the people of the city would want that, from what I've seen...

BOS vs Diamond City would not be that the BOS would destroy it but:

Spoiler
Danse said something along the lines of "Look at these people living like this when there are perfectly good buildings outside". He has a point but DC is defended, downtown Boston is not - they'd have to clear a lot of enemies to make it safe.

Diamond City population has the same view as me,

They despise ugly things like Super Mutants and Ghouls, and 'Bad' Synths that kill and replacing people.

Maxon is like a kid, anything he labeled as bad he genocide them.

Brotherhood only care about power under him.

He don't see reason, he is worse than Super Mutants.

In Commonwealth someone gonna teach him a lesson of responsibility.

.... They're nowhere near the actual adeptus astartes, be it physically, mentally or whatever. They're just a poor imitation.

Also, they lose their " tactically/physically superior " soldiers way too much for me to take them seriously. I mean cmon, you send a recon squad to Commonwealth, and immediately they lose several of soldiers to raiders. RAIDERS.

At least the Enclave were the real deal, but too bad we never had the choice to join them.

I'm just starting down the BOS questline- do they ever actually get competent in the field, or do I get to help them by falling out of the sky in a burning vertibird on top of the enemy like every other one of their fights I've seen?

BoS Knights are the most likely thing to win in an NPC vs NPC fight in the game.

"black man in a cowboy hat" was that really necessary? How about a "dude in a silly hat" or even, "the last surviving Minuteman wannabe", but seriously? What is wrong with you.

So is it just the guns and blowing things up that you BoS lovers are in to?

It can't be the storyline or personalities. They make the MInutemen look like Shakespeare.

I love the personalities, I consider myself in an abusive three way relationship between Danse and Maxson. I only wish their women would abuse me too, they do like quite sixy in those field scribe outfits if I say so myself

I thought Smiling Kate was pretty cute, in a homicidally demented sort of way. :)

I haven't committed to any cause yet, but why don't the BoS MAKE a better place for everyone? or at least themselves? Take Boston by force, fortify it, and rebuild it. only makes sense to me.

Sure. It's a better place if you want to live under the thumb of a militaristic facist regime with the threat of death hanging over your head if you don't follow they're every rule and regulation. And don't even think about being a ghoul (feral or not), or a Super (civilized or not), or a Synth (no matter the generation) or, in any way divergent from their status quo.

Basically you'll be the BoS's slave labor while they scavenge the City and it's surrounding areas for every possible bit of resources they can find before they leave you and the piles of corpses and move on to some other area that they can subjugate.

The BoS has the most interesting Main questline, i'll give them that.

I like the minutemen one the best though cause you can actually keep everyone but the institute alive. I wouldnt want any single faction overseeing the commonwealth.

Synth is just a tool, like a knife or a gun.

But when they have their own reasoning they are not a tool, they even deny their owner (Institute) request if they think it is against their will.

Like human bad behavior synths gonna be punished either by human or by synth (Glory, Valentine).

All Maxon think about is genocide without reasoning, just because he feels threatened,

especially by a high tech faction like Institute, they either secure it (like) or destroy it (dislike).

Institute especially Railroad don't have any hate against Brotherhood in the first place.

Yet Brotherhood come to commonwealth to spread the hate.

After everything the Institute has done, I can't blame the Brotherhood for wanting to get rid of them. Creating FEV mutants, callously replacing innocent people with Synth infiltrators, condemning nearly an entire vault's worth of people to death, resorting to murder to prevent the people of the Commonwealth from organizing, and mass producing free-willed synths (while I disagree with Maxson about Synths needing to be destroyed, and I feel that Synths do deserve freedom, I do feel that mass-producing free-willed beings to use as thralls is a disaster waiting to happen). Even ignoring the Brotherhood's prejudices against free-willed synthetics, the Institute deserves a good thrashing after all it's done.

I'm currently in the process of stacking Deacon, Danse and Strong at the Red Rocket...surrounded by robots for when I betray 2/3 of them.
