the dunwich building is the only reference that ive ever seen.... are there other references?

Indeed. Point Lookout had a quest loosely based off of Lovecraftian ideas, which tied into the Dunwich building. Fairly interesting quest - right amount of Fallout mixed with Lovecraft.

The Krivbekneh in Point Lookout is a direct reference to the Necronomicon.
