Fallout 4. It seems to get a lot of love and hate on this forum.
It's not without it's issues. We can all agree on that. For me personally though, I haven't encountered anything gamebreaking in what is now 300hrs of play. Sure there are bugs here and glitches there but 99% of the time there is a workaround. It's those bugs that you can't work around that Bethesda need to fix first. Here's hoping they do. They'd be stupid not to. I think that as a part of modern day gaming, with games and huge and as complex as the likes of Fallout, we have to expect some bugs to escape notice before release.
Bugs aside though I know there is a lot of hate being aimed at the game in general for certain aspects that are just purely disliked. There are definitely things in this game that I think could be better, but then... don't we always know better? One game this huge with as many different aspects to it is never going to please 100% of the people who play it. Some people have said they wished certain things that existed in Fallout before had been left alone. Again, yes there are some things I think were cool about the old Fallout games that I miss now but games have to evolve. If they don't they become stale and people stop playing because the developers didn't stimulate peoples interest with new things.
Fallout 4 is not perfect but it's bloody damn well enjoyable to play nonetheless! Well, for me it is anyway. I love it!
I have been utterly lost in this game for weeks now. I can't even count the nights I've stayed up late to do just one more scrap run, or one more mission or build one more part of a settlement. The most amazing thing about Fallout in general is that it is TRULY so open world. A lot of games that claim to be open world are far from it! In Fallout you really can do anything at pretty much any time. Even when you clear out a building that you stumbled across and kill an important character BEFORE you were given the mission to do so, it still counts when the mission does finally come up. You get to answer to the other person that you already dealt with it etc. There was a time not so long ago where this would have been thought an impossibility to implement in games.
Everyone has their own likes and dislikes and you either love or hate this game. Each to their own. I'm not here writing this to say that people who hate the game are wrong. There is no right and wrong in loving or hating something.
