Loving stealth and enemy a.i.

Post » Mon Nov 30, 2015 11:39 am

I just wanted to state how much I'm loving playing a stealthy sniper. The a.i. acts exactly like I'd like them too... If after you fire a shot and you are not detected.. enemies head for the spot the shot came from, they also sometimes randomly fire at that spot. It allows you to change positions and then fire on them again from a different area while the enemies concentrate on trying to find you in the first area. So much fun.

I have to agree.

I normally play the stealth - distance character myself and I have been very pleasantly surprised by the AI and options when it comes to taking the shot from a distance. There have been many times when I have been able to use resources like gas canisters and other flammables to my advantage as well.

Being able to pick a few raiders off from a distance, move to another location, and then repeat the process is a great way to thin the herd instead of just running in guns blazing, and I am glad Fallout 4 really caters to that style.

Everyone seems to play stealthy sneaky sneak characters these days.

Yes. The a.i. is indeed perfect.

I'm also playing somewhere along the lines of the stealthy sniper and I must say, it is VERY satisfying to have the enemies react in a natural way.
Once again, the job done on Fallout 4 is giving it all to immersion. Thank you to the people who made immersion so damn good and important in Fallout 4 !

P.s.: I've not been hooked to game like that since... like Final Fantasy 7.

Skyrim didn't do it, neither did the other fallout games (And they were very good games).

This one just seems perfect for me.

Very good stuff, I had my thing go back to hidden, and then an enemy I had fired at ran up the stairs looking for me still, like they hadn't forgotten I existed

Yep, they have a bit better memory now. Even if it reverts back to Hidden, they seem to become more alert if they hear a noise or see something suspicious than before you did something.
