Loving the hypocrisy

How many videos have we seen with ed bongoboy stern saying there are no "no skill" kills in this game. Hmmmmmm. So you took out one hit kills and made snipers a support class because they dont require skill...you nerfed grenades because they dont require skill either...YETTTT mines require no skill...pretty sure turrets have zero skill too. Oh but thats different those dont make the game not fun like getting sniped from a great distance. YEAH WELL i dont really care to step on a mine and die from someone across the map. Really isnt fun. so maybe just maybe dont say crap like there arent any no skill kills because planting a bomb on the ground randomly, or setting up a turret doesnt require any skill.

Both mines and turrets are easily countered. Especially with operatives. Your clearly raging about the fact you cant set up camp and snipe your way to victory. Your argument is invalid. :3

And you may want to space out your future posts to make them more easy to read. :3

I understand the point you're trying to make but this isn't the most constructive way to get it across. If you wanted to start a productive discussion I think you should have toned it down a bit.

Turrets laid without consideration, and left untended, are rarely that troublesome so I'd argue they do require skill. As for mines, you're correct that someone who doesn't want to be randomly sniped without warning also won't enjoy being randomly blown up by a mine without warning - but it was my understanding that you couldn't kill someone outright with a mine. As with turrets I suspect laying them out without skill will make them ineffective and leaving them in far corners of the map without tending them is unlikely to be that helpful - although perhaps they can serve as a useful alarm.

China called broski.

OHK is no skill indeed, if you think otherwise......... god help you. Mines are not OHK & are concussive, not to mention they can be disarmed. Turrets are limited to one per engineer & there are only 3 engies per team, again not mentioning the fact they don't move.

Try harder.

forcing you, atleast trying, to make you move as a team and play SMART

You are correct, this game is forcing you to act more team-oriented and thats what i love about it.

Mines can be shown by operatives and disabled by engineers.

They can deploy 1 turret at a time.A team with 6-8 engineers (thus turrets) is not SMART.

So basically what you're saying is that you're the type of person who blindly runs through choke points or open areas and SD should have made a game to strengthen such noobish play.

Still don't get how people think that shooting a guy in the head from across the map while the target is running and jumping like a goofball doesn't require skill just because doing so kills the guy.

Shooting them in the head is skillful, I meant to say "In the leg + Stopping power".

Also, turrets aren't auto-kill. Developers have said they've just surpressive fire, and are only a threat if you're stuck in its view for several seconds.

A Light can outrun a poorly placed turret.

Turrets have a tracking system of about 180 degrees. If you get behind it, it forgets you're there.

Par4n01a's OP has it's flaws, something I already commented on at the beginning of the thread, but this is no reason to bombard the thread with inappropriate posts. As the rules clearly state calling someone a troll or accusing them of trolling is inappropriate; I've removed several posts like this so far and if any more get posted they'll be removed and an official warning will follow.

If you do not agree with par4n01a please respond in a constructive and civil manner. If you do not like the thread there is no reason to read it or respond. And in the future if there is a thread you feel is problematic you should report it rather than jumping in and flaming someone.

It was something from early 2010, I'm still searching.

I just remember a rep saying that, hopefully I'm correct.

Same argument could be made for snipers (which I believe was the comparison OP made). If you are going to limit a collection of things in the name of "fun and fair" then it could definitely be seen as hypocritical to keep other things in there that are easily on the same level if not more so.

Shooting them in the head is skillful, I meant to say "In the leg + Stopping power".

Wouldn't disagree with "in the leg" there, but that's just a mechanics issue solved by having real difference in body damage calculations. I happen to think that

Wasteland was a decent map because it was open to a tactical approach for all players, including snipers, instead of just "find the high ground" or "run to the middle" like the others; if not for the stupid thermal scope and heartbeat sensor that could have been amazing, and kill streaks of course.

To the OP, the skill in this game is your ability to play as a team member, not some team carrying TDM [censored]. GTFO NOOB

It was mentioned in a video that the turrets are better at suppresion then outright downing and killing people. However the mines are not one hit kill; in the newest get smart video the person who stepped on the mine was downed not killed, plus it does not detonated until you step off of it. If you are fast enough you could stand there and have a teammate disarm the bomb for you. Remember that nobody will ever get outright killed, but instead will always first get downed.

I am amused by the belief that a OH Incapacitation is not comparable to a OHK in other games. One hit and out of the action is the same wheter you actually die or just fall over and lay ther until you get healed.
