Low Numbers, Unbearable Lag?

Post » Fri May 20, 2011 2:15 am

Alright so Ive picked up BRINK, as have about 6 guys in my clan, and we were playing a bit today, and it literally took us about 1 hour and 40 minutes to find a game where all of us could join, without lag.

I think this is pretty ridiculous. I mean I understand that patches have to be put in place, but really? Almost 2 hours?

We're located across North America, some people in NY and LA, and Vancouver, Canada, Philadelphia, etc. Were on XBL of course, I know there is a problem with the lag, but I read all these other threads and people are saying they're getting into 8v8 matches no problems with no lag, and I'm sititng here wondering what the heck I'm doing wrong.

Every time I join a game, it's usually 2-3 Human players per side at most. Obviously once I get my squad in the game, its at least 6 Human players on my team, but than we're just steamrolling a bunch of bots, literally taking the whole fun point out of this game. I didn't want a Human VS AI multiplayer mode.

Also - anyone else getting issues with joining games with AI bots in them, and inviting friends to join, only for them get "The server is full" error. Isn't that a little ridiculous? People can't even join a game that is majority filled with BOTS. That is a HUGE flaw in the matchmaking.

I really do LOVE this game, it is PURE FUN when it works. That's it's only downfall is that it takes, sometimes literally about an hour (with a group of friends) to find a decent host with a decent number of human players. This needs to be fixed immediately or people are just going to give up on this!

Yeah. The lag was so bad today I just quit. This was after spending 10-20 mins joining games. Lagging. Quitting and staring at loading screens. It was really bad yesterday as well. I hate to say it but realistically they have a week. If its still as bad on Friday then this gets traded for L.A Noire. I hope it does get fixed. I like the game when it works but I'm not going to waste money.

100% agree.

Lag is unbareable. so i have already stopped playing.

i tryed several severs. i spent about 3-4 hours trying to get a game that didnt lag so bad is was unplayable. i can play all my other games no prob's, so it not my connection.

such a shame :(

Also. It seems completely dead on xbox. Every lobby I have been in since yesterday has had two other players at most. Bots are fine for co-op but should not be in multiplayer at all. Is this a permanent thing or some kind of temporary situation?

I have Brink on all 3 platforms, PS3, XBox 360 and PC.

It works best on PS3. I know a lot of you may not want to hear that but, it's true.

There is no lag, matchmaking is extremeley quick.
In fact, I dare say, the game works perfectly on PS3.

Oh, and the graphics are superb.

I'll be returning my Xbox 360 copy. It's horrible.

I cant play this game either, every game has 1-2human players on each side with game breaking lag, its horrible. I'll be buying LA Noire next week and hopefully when im completely done with that game Brink will be somewhat playable.
