Lower the graphics as much as possible because is so laggy..

Post » Sat Nov 06, 2010 11:19 am

Hi guys,

I'm really struggling on open areas with dense combat, I'm using a quad core i5 @ 4.6Ghz, ATI 4870 512mb 1920x1200, I know my GPU is not strong, but what the hell! I can barely play during dense combats, it slows down so much!

The **** gamer setting doesn't give you any option, and that **** motion blur and other eye candy **** stuff that only mess with the game.

I just wanna lower as much as possible the graphics to see if I can manage to play. If not then I'll arrange a way to return this **** game, full of cheaters and lack of support.

Thanks anyway

Even a 4870 shouldn't be struggling on the lowest settings, I mean you can get an okay-ish fps on Crysis with a 4870 at max graphics settings. There's most likely a problem with the game, or maybe you're using at outdated driver version? You could try reinstalling the game too, to see if that makes a difference.

I'm using the latest catarubbish 11.4, also my 4870 is a bit overclocked both gpu an mem... everything else runs fine except crysis 2. I've already reinstalled the game and some other things, I remember seeing a tool to select graphics settings somewhere here a few days ago but I can't find it now :/

Maybe it's the motion blur? Create a custom config using Wasdie's tool and you should be fine ;)
( search in this forum for the tool )

Well 11.4 drivers are in beta, so maybe there's an issue there. However they're meant to help out the 6900 series more than anything else. But my 4870 ran Crysis ok so there should be no need to turn down graphics as your framerate should be higher on Crysis 2 than on Crysis. It is an incredibly odd issue you seem to be having, hmmm...

I've used 11.2 and 11.3 as well, looks the same issues with all of them.

I;ve got frame rates normally, the problem is when I get to many people on a open area, is really slows down... if I'm using nano vision then it get a lot worse

Why the **** would I want dx11 ? I play competitive wihout with eye candy. I leave this stuff for noobs and single players, my aim is a fast frame rate, not visual

4.6GHz? Nice overclock. What is it, an i5 2500k? I really want one of those CPUs.

I know it sounds counter intuitive, but have you tried running the CPU at stock speed?

Well you traded your assurance away, so don't blame the game!

it is a intel quad core, released a couple of months ago.

My problem I think is the mouse lag, it takes so log to respond... I'm using a wired logitech mx518, and my setup runs crysis 1 better than crysis 2.

I can't understand why so much lag on the mouse...

looks that disabling mouse smoothing resolved the mouselag a bit, it is more responsive
