Post » Mon Jan 25, 2016 10:48 am

OK this makes me very angry. I just had a hard battle used up a lot of ammo. But an explotion killled my target an his body went flying over a wall.I cant reach his body now.Reduce the ragdoll. It is set too high.

I like the ragdoll as it is. Very cinematic.

Nexus mods has a pretty popular mod where you can configure rag doll.

I have to agree it could use some tweaking. It's also annoying when bodies slide down the gentlest slope like an oiled mountainside! I don't recall Skyrim having it quite this bad though that might be due to my mods

An there's an easily accessible mod to adjust it.

I remember the sliding was bad in Skyrim too. Like all polygons are ice unless you're standing upright.

Not really sure how game engines can account for this though, unless they start factoring for friction and going every surface a material friction value.

The only tweaking I recommend is wolfenstein the new order level of ragdolling because it's hilarious.

One very good example of a glass surface was the location below Nilheim (Telrav's place). The long straight section that almost always had a large bear on it and a hairpin bend. If you killed the bear while it was above you, you had to be quick to loot as it slid past you!

Mixed feelings on this. Yeah, the flying cadavers can be hiliarious, but also agree with OP that it can be frustrating sometimes. I've probably spent two hours in total searching for the exploded remains of bugs I killed and in some instances just had to give up.

Can't wait till they get the "mods for console platforms" thing going so everyone can have it exactly the way they want it. Might have to check out the ragdoll mod, thanks for the link ;)

Rag dolls have a few problems. One being that seeing a person being completed devastated through explosions and a hail of gun fire is not something we witness on a regular basis, so we're not entirely sure what it should naturally look like.

The second thing definitely has to do with how the body reacts and how the limbs are weighted.

I think in order to make death's more believable, Bethesda definitely should have created a multitude of death animations that went into ragdolls.

Skyrim had the notorious fly swatting death that went into a ragdoll once the play dropped, but yeah... it got kind of ridiculous after a while.

I much prefer the rag doll effects in place now over the mostly static and boring death animations that a majority of games have. Yeah, its alittle over the top sometimes, but I kind of like it that way.

For me it's fine, more realistic which is good. If there's a mod to limit ragdoll there's your answer.

I really don't know what my opinion is on this. I love seeing the bodies fly all over the place, but I do see the OP's point.

Gods...modders have been handling this since Oblivion. One of the first mods to be released, actually.
