My M.O.T.Y (Lowered Weapons)

Post » Sat Jan 16, 2016 2:43 pm

Hi

Happy New Year

Im on Ps4 and i would point out my Mod of the year it goes too Lowered Weapons http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/522/?

I will say its sad that such a simple but ecxelent feauture must come from the modding community.

working on a game doing your best too make it as beautiful as possible and too not come up with this idea and it basicly is already in the game , it makes all other discussions around devellopment pointless for me .

So im not mad at gamesas but this proves something too think about .

and i dont want too wait for the moment i can install a mod on my ps4 so the question i have can you introduce this in a patch BETHESDA ?

Not really a thing that needs to be patched in, even as a free content thing like they did with legendary skills in Skyrim. It's a really minor change that not a lot of people would care about (Hell, I'm sure some would even whine about it)

This and no [censored] dialogue wheels was the first mod that I installed.

Its not technically a mod, but autohotkey has been invaluable. You can't really remap the controls in Falllout 4, in order to do so you need to use an external 3rd party application. I can't play Fallout 4 without autohotkey, so it gets my vote as MOTD.

Your PC will do this on their own.

Huh. This is a thing people care about?

Really?

Honestly, I don't get it. I never noticed this as a "missing" thing, and even after looking at the mod I'm not sure why I'd want it. But hey, if that floats your boat, that's exactly what mods are for. :) But I don't see Beth inserting some random mod into a patch/DLC.

Yes. But I voted no because... A) There's a Mod for it on the platform that really matters and B) See A.

I didn't realize what I was missing until I saw the mod with before and after images of weapon placement on the screen. It's more realistic, you see more. Ya don't walk around with your rifle up to your chin IRL do ya? This was a very early mod for me and I'm thankful for it. I suppose some people do use consoles so, maybe, for the sake of holiday spirit and stuff...

To those thinking this happens anyway, it doesn't. It only happens moving from an interior into the world or vice versa, and only until One aims down the sights or fires the weapon. It's a nice touch that gets the weapon out of the way without completely removing it from view.

The :celebration: modding community provides us with a plethora of simple, excellent, complicated, godly, fixes, enhancements, tools, crazy, useless, wanted, funny, interesting . . .Xx mods.

Well, I don't walk around with a gun IRL at all, so..... :P

But honestly, I think it's just that I've played FPS games with a gun sticking out of the bottom right of the screen for 20+ years. So I don't see anything "wrong" with FO4 doing that as well (I don't really think of it as "held up to your chin", either, but rather standard held-ready-at-your-side.) And I don't really suffer from this whole "immersion" thing, so the "is this what you'd do IRL"/"not realistic!" thought never enters my head. Even having looked at the screenshots of how it looks with the mod, I can't imagine wanting to install it.... doesn't seem like it does anything I'd want.

But hey, that's just me. :) And again - the beauty of mods is that every player can tweak things to match all their particular wishes, even if other people don't see the issue. :tops:

edit: thinking about it - if this were patched in, to be the default behavior? I'm not sure if it would bother me enough to want to find a mod to change it back. But it might. I'd have to play a bit to see how it felt.

Yes, because I like it and it adds realism.

Glad somebody did this. I hope it makes it to consoles, one way or another.

Having spent entirely too much time carrying a real rifle around, I totally understand the people who want this mod for the sake of 'believability" or 'realism' or whatever you want to call it.

Yes, it's trivial...but all video gaming is.

Skyrim had the Hearthfire DLC so console players could get a version of the Skyrim Settlement mods. However since mods are supposed to be coming to consoles, then Bethesda might not even bother doing that. They could waste time creating something that console users will get in a few months, but that is unlikely.

Well thanks for the feed back , all i can say would this Lowered Weapons be in the game when i first started it up my reaction would be "Wow" nicely done and i would probably mentioned in my endorse post about things i like that changed gameplay.

Fact that this came out a week after the game was released means it did bother someone a lot that hee made a mod for it and seeing how popular it is say also a lot.

I call it ecxelent yes because imo it is i must recall it doesnt need an Einstein too realise this can be done .

For me this would be the cream on top , i dont suspect it will make it in a patch maybe because i have step on theyre dike i don know .

anyway thanks again .

note : it can be locked if you wish or maybe vote only i have my picture thats enough for me .

thanks
