Rebels are exciting and romantic.

Loyalist are just boring.

Hopefully Bethesda would put in reasons that would make people more hesitant in supporting the rebels (which is unsurprising the popular choice) for the sake of grey/grey morality.

Personally I will be setting alight rebels with cleansing fire as makeshift torchs for my battlemage. Assuming that is if I'm forced to chose between the two rather then say stop the fighting at the moment to better fight Aduin which in my mind kinda takes priority.

I want some missions (on both sides) with things from combat and assassinations, to kidnapping and stuff. Were there any kidnapping quests in MW or OB?

Personally, I generally tend to side with rebels in these sorts of RPG scenarios.

However, since the Empire has generally been more welcoming of all the various races and sort of a melting pot, do you think the Rebels will likely be somewhat more racist, or contain a xenophobic, semi-racist sub-group?

Whoa! you mean Skyrim's fight for Independence. We shouldnt call it a civil war, because Skyrim is just trying to claim their own land, so it should be view as a fight for independence.

Skyrim! Skyrim! Skyrim! (im for the rebels if you dont know by now.)

I'm pretty sure it's a civil war sparked by the desire of some to have independence, versus those who want to remain loyal to the empire.

Perhaps not as xenophobic as the Dunmer pre-cataclysm but it certainly seems plausable enough as one way that the Empire can be presented in such a way to be more sympathetic. It all depends on how Bethesda wants to go about it in their story but will hopefully present a well done scenario between the two opposing forces that is more complicated and blurred then intially thought where the Imperalistic Empire is not necessarily evil that only wishs to conquer and consume resources. While the natives arn't necessarily poor freedom fighters that so many are quick to assume. Nothing is as simple as it appears even as most here live within a libertarian egalitarian culture and one has to remember that TES is much more savage and lawless where a Empire can be a good thing for long term stability and order.

Something I hope Bethesda will make use of as a way of attaching a gripping story as a addition to the main plot with Aduin with people debating the finer points of these two factions that would make the game more memorable.

I have been thinking about this for a while now...and was thinking of creating my first thread about it, too late...lol.

Anyway, as to which side I am on...for me it will be simple.

Who was it that was gonna execute me?

Not them....they are all gonna burn.
