Loyalty to your first weapon?

As soon as I have a better weapon, the original one will be traded with the nearest merchant.

I'm a very non-sentimental guy where it comes to my weapons and armor. If we get a suitable way to display various items (like trophy cases that actually showcase the items, or armor stands), then I'll have at least one house set up as my personal museum. Given that I'm a 360 gamer, I'm not holding my breath.

My characters will probably keep their first weapons as souvenirs.

Those weapons probably helped them survive early parts of the game.

I voted for option #3.

Good luck killing anything with a rusty iron dagger after the tutorial dungeon.

I guess i am one 'o the "brave" few that holds on to those older artifacts for a long time (meaning i will use them for some time like i did in Oblivion)!

I've no use for a rusty piece of crap after I find another weapon that's actually sharp.

Well, if I have a cool looking weapon or a weapon with a cool enchantment, sure I'll keep it and use it as often as possible. But if I come across a weapon that is considerably better, of course I'll take and use it over my old one.

With not.having weapon degredation I'll probably carry fewer weapons. But I always kept one of almost each weapon at the house. Sell the duplicates or rusty junk

I'll usually enchant it and rename it something like, "My First Blade" and place it within my nicest house.

In Dungeon Siege 1, the original weapon equipping the character (a dagger) was part of an hidden easter egg locked dungeon. It was one of the 3 items required to open the dungeon door. I enjoyed this :)

You all know what I'm talking about. Maybe not the first weapon you ever get your hands on, but the first semi-quality sword you get at a low level.

In my case, I dropped the Amulet of Kings off at the Priory, then went to Chorrol and joined the Fighter's Guild. Upstairs there was the perfect sword for my knight-like character. A Fine Steel Longsword. It did a good amount of damage, but I cared more that it looked so cool. I still think it's one of the coolest swords in the game. A decorated blade and and ornate hilt. I enchanted it with a sigil stone and kept it at all times, even when I started getting Ebony weapons.

Anyone else show the same loyalty to their first favored weapon?

Thats how I was in dues ex human revolution assault rifle for life!

I do a combination of keep it and make it better and enshrining it. I'll use it and enchant it up until it is 100% useless. Then it becomes enshrined over a fireplace.

Yes I'm pretty sentimental so I usually keep things that saved my life time and time again.

I play my characters are collectors so I will definitely keep the weapon I kill my first dragon with, will probably go on a table or inside a display case in wherever I make my home. This goes for lots of other things(armor and weapon I am in when I finish MQ will be enshrined)

ahhh! It was not first weapon for me, but the wrist irons. In Oblivion, the wrist irons you start off wearing in the begening of the game, I killed Mehrunes Dagon (well, martin) in those.

Morrowind was my first TES game, and I remember when Tarhiel fell from the sky near Seyda Neen. Aside from scaring the hell out of me, he was packing an enchanted sword. I kept and used that sword until mid-game haha.

Nah, but I hold onto one of every unenchanted weapon type, just because. Historically I also tend to use unenchanted weapons for general fighting and keep only an enchanted light weapon for special purposes.

When I play RPGs then it depends on the inventory. When im too full then I sell the useless stuff. When my first weapon is one of these items, so shall be it.
But on the other side, I dont throw weapons away right when I got a better weapon. Sometimes Im not sure if the new weapon suits my style, so I keep the old one and test the new one for a bit.
But mostly at the end of the game, you will see only the most recent picked up weapons in my inventory, the old ones are maybe sold or thrown away in a dungeon :D

My weapons should be grateful they got to serve the great and magnificent I. When the weapons serve me no purpuse anymore I sell them. The last thing I would want is an abundance of mediocre'ness. :teehee:

I never keep my rusty iron crap. It just looks terrible, is weak, and again looks terrible.

I tend to save weapons based on what I did with them. That iron dagger I used to kill an irritating alter woman to get the dark brotherhood's attention? That is permanently in a display case in my home, next to a certain blade that accompanied me all through the dark brotherhood quests.

On the same note on all my oblivion characters now they Go for... The light of dawn or dawnblade or whatever it is. That blade that feeds on enemy blood and evolves every evening/morning. I love carrying it around, though I do so much exploration the poor thing tends to starve....
