My char has adopted Lucia after buying Breezehome and everything was working as usual until she suddenly wasn't home. I thought it might be glitching and did some dungeon delving, but she was still gone when returning to the house.

I tried the player.placeatme command and it worked but she doesn't recognize that she is adopted. I can't initiate any dialogue with her.

Anyone who knows what might cause her to disappear and, more importantly, if there's some way to get her back as her adopted self?

Guess I can live with it, but it is kind of depressing with her empty room when coming home.

EDIT: Sorry, wrong forum. It was meant for the cheat and hints forum as I guess it's not mod related. I'll ask a mod to move it.

EDIT 2: Guess I could make a clean save w/o Hearthfire and then add it back and start over.

Are you sure it's not mod related? Do you have any A.I mods?

No, I'm not sure it's not mod related. Checking all mods in TES5Edit, I see nothing suspicious, though. But it has never ever happened before. The only AI mod I'm using is http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/65013/? and it's a new mod for me.

EDIT: And its description says specifically: "Note that this plugin doesn't edit the AI used by followers (when they follow you), adopted children, spouse and stewards."

EDIT 2: I did the clean save thingy, so now I have her as an adopted child again. The issue was a bit annoying as I've had an (knock on wood) exceptionally stable and issue free game except this. But I don't think I've ever had a Skyrim game without some oddness happening.

You know, I have never seen Lucia in any playthrough afaik. After hearing people mention adopting her, I googled her, bc I never even heard of the character. I have seen Braith and Mila and Lars, etc, but never Lucia. This makes 2 separate installs of Skyrim and at least 5 characters or so and never saw her (and it's not like Whiterun is a town I rarely visit or anything). I am keeping an eye out for her this playthrough, and even searched around the Gildergreen and Temple of Kynareth but so far, no luck. Maybe the ETAC (Expanded Towns And Cities) mod I am using caused her to disappear, but I don't remember seeing her even before that in my original install.

According to the wiki, she could get stuck in Carlotta Valentia's house(?) but I haven't looked there yet in my game and I'm not sure why she would be there of all places.

Do not use the "placeatme" command for an NPC. It spawns a clone not the real NPC. Look up the NPC RefID# on UESP type "prid #" in the console and use the "moveto player" command instead.
