Lucky 38 Convention Part II

"Cottonwood cove helps us stop attacks to the fort, You also seem pretty confident of all the 'Allies' you have so I see no good reason".

We're weak if you can easily move within our borders.

And why would you need to stop attacks to the Fort? It's not an unwalled town, it's a giant military complex.

And I believe it would be best if the Legion built another settlement right across the river from Cottonowod Cove.

Head Paladin Ben Stone - Brotherhood of Steel

Head Paladin Stone steeples his hands and seems to be in deep concentration. His adviser leans down and whispers something into his ear. Stone's eyes open slowly and he nods toward the scribe. "Perhaps you could speak with the NCR on our behalf and get them to relinquish all of their units of salvaged power armor."

The Paladin then turns to the Super Mutant. "Lobotomite several of our brothers ventured to Black Mountain some time ago and haven't returned. Do you know what became of them?"

He faces the Boomer diplomat last. "I believe a team also disappeared near Boomer territory. Can you tell me what happened to them as well?"

Why do you think we're also making it a military base?

And the Followers will not head over to your Fort, I can promise you.

Also, to try and end the hostilities, would the Legion like us to help teach them some farming techniques we've picked up over the years?

No charge at all, it's more of a peace offering.

Well that's not your decision.

And do you know where the Fort is?

It is far up the river from Cottonwood Cove.

Raynor drank a little, and then realized that there was nothing more he could do to guarantee the safety of the Gun Runners future energy weapon trade, so he bid his farewells, and told James to come and pick him at the former NCR embassy when he was leaving. He had to set some things straight before venturing to his business partners meeting, who he suspected might be a trap.
But he felt like he had no choice.

A millitary base that near the fort? A bit hypocritical because if you think we are going to allow a freaking millitaryy base near us then you are wrong. Novac you forget you are a small town, you csnnot push around the bull.

We're not and Cottonwood Cove is further from the Fort than Bittersprings, Novac, Forlorn Hope, or Camp Golf.

So we can't make bases there either?

If I'm not mistaken, I thought I said i'd still like white glove society to have atleast a small part in these conventions until I can have more time for posting them.

Ah, yes, here it is.

The Lobotomite - Ambassador of Black Mountain

"Ah yes, this is something I have been meaning to talk to the Brotherhood representative about. It must have slipped my mind with all of the preparations taking place."

*Looks straight at Head Paladin Stone*
"We found two bodies clad in Power Armour in the area that our Centaurs are kept. They had been there long before the second Battle of Hoover Dam and thus before we had received our cure so the Centaurs would have been very hungry and there are few things that can stop a hungry Centaur. For what it is worth I am sorry for the loss of your brothers. They were moved into one of the buildings on the summit of Black Mountain, their bodies and the armour they had will be returned to Hidden Valley."

Unknown-White Glove Society

*The White Glove Society Representative arrives so late, it isn't even fashionable. He looks at the time, and frowns. He wears the same mask as the rest of the White Gloves too, except it's more fancy. The Lucky 38 lights almost bounce off of his radiant mask. He takes a seat in the only open chair*

*He speaks in a voice that is quite hoarse, which is quite unusual for a White Glove*

I couldn't let the Omertas have every bit of the fun, now, could I?

You can simply address me as C.J. I'm not going to tell you my real name. *Pauses*. The Courier specifically asked me not to reveal it.

Hello C.J.

The Chairmen have opened up a second casino in Nelson and another in either Nipton or Primm.

I wanted to extend an offer to one of the casino families to open one up in Nelson as well.

I am turning Nelson from ruins into a two part town. The miners who work at the mine up the road and the resort part where the Chairmen's casino is and where I am offering you a chance to make another casino.

Nelson seems like a good start. We don't have the funds to start up a large casino, so we would have to keep it small for now.

That's fine.

We didn't plan for large casinos there anyway.

It's actually a really good idea for a place, small casinos and nice resort homes. When the road to the NCR is re-established it will be very profitable.

Ah, yes. We blew them up. Don't be angry, we had a heavily armed group trespassing in a known dangerous area. You would of done the same thing.

More importantly: *Slams fist on table* WHAT IS THIS ABOUT TAKING PEOPLE'S WEAPONS?!?! Stealing weapons! *spits* Might as well take thier life! And now increasing prices on power for no reason? These other savages, no offense everybody else, are right about you being disgraceful raiders.

Alice Swift - FoA Rep

Ulysses

"You speak the truth, Lobotomite... history stands behind your word. The Brotherhood can learn from this if they are willing, but the Bull... they survive only because of war, and that is something too powerful to change... would have to change their whole ideology... would destroy them just as much as they will be destroyed when war is no longer possible."

OOC: Did you take a "Ulysses 101" class? Because you make a PERFECT Ulysses, Tycho!!

"Destroy cottonwood cove then, I want no way for outsiders to gain access to the Fort"
The Followers are building a hospital there.
"The Followers are fine with only being a river away from the Legion?" If the Legion spot any possible way that you are trying to acess the fort then the Followers nearby shall be crucified or enslaved, realise this."

Alice had sat by quietly, just following the conversation. Now, she felt it was time to respond.

"Kruser, why are you so determined to turn everything into a war situation? We are simply establishing a clinic for the good of the Mojave. We are at peace and you still talk as if the war is still ongoing," she ask, exasperated by the Frumentarii's war-like nature. Then she sat up straight. With fire in her eyes, she looked at Kruser. "We will stay clear of the Fort, but make no mistake, should you ever threaten us again, we won't take it lightly. The Followers are pacifists and try to do good, but we CAN and WILL defend ourselves if need be," she said.

Head Paladin Ben Stone - Brotherhood of Steel

"No. We will get by on our own."
Head Paladin Ben Stone - Brotherhood of Steel

"We are prepared to extend an olive branch toward the powers in the Mojave. We won't do anything to harm HELIOS One as long as we are able to maintain possession of it. That is all we ask?

"Paladin Stone, it's good to see you here," Alice greeted the new Brotherhood arrival. "I pointed out to your colleague that the Followers have information that they would like to discuss with you. However, it seems that you make it clear that you don't want to deal with anyone and still remain secluded. Don't you think it's time to change your ways? To come out of hiding and work with us all for the greater good of the people?" She asked softly. "At least you are taking the first steps and may I say that the Followers will gladly reach out for that Olive Branch," she added with a smile.

The Lobotomite - Ambassador of Black Mountain

"Humanity has already survived the worst catastrophe in its brief existence. Humanity must now not only survive, but thrive as well and the Legion will not accomplish this in the way it has so far excelled at."

*He glances briefly at Ulysses*
"They say war never changes, but men do through the roads they walk. The Bull must change or it will inevitably fall as so many nations before have. War is never a good long term solution, learn something from the empire Caesar(pronounces it Kaisar) based his Legion off of and focus more on the other areas of a developing nation."

"Hear, hear, now this is the first sensible statement I've heard spoken during this convention. Humanity is strong and don't you think we owe all those brave people, who have survived on nothing but hope? We, who are able to evoke change, who are in positions of power, who can rally the people. They look up to us, they need someone to follow, else the conditions will remain the same for the next 200 years." Alice looked around the room. "Isn't that why we are here? Why we are discussing the state of the Mojave? We are not just here to strike deals with each other, or exchange caps for guns, but we are here to improve the living conditions for all," she added with enthusiasm.

James carbone - NCR

You! should think Logically, how are you gonna get those troops over here if you try will bomb, shoot, stab and blow up every single one that even attempts to cross that river. You Legate porbably won't even get to reach the river....
and with the Follower hospital at Cottonwood any troops injured can quickly be healed and sent back into action

Alice looked at Carbone with an astounded look. "James, what do you mean by "sent back into action"? You also sound like you are still waging a war. This is not the intention I had, when I mentioned to build a clinic at Cottonwood. Maybe it's time to re-think that position and look for a suitable building else where. The Followers are not interested in continuing your war, or anyone else's for that matter. We just want to provide care for the people of the Mojave. So, I think we shall look towards Nipton to establish the Southern Mojave Clinic," she said and crossed her arms. "This move might also cease your bickering with the Legion over Cottonwood. Really, grown man fighting like children over a toy. Didn't anyone teach you two how to share?" she added with a huff.

"Have you seen Arizona? Have you seen our armies? We have a whole state that is ours. You have a small town in the Mojave, do the math".

Alice raised her eyebrows. "If you boast such a number in Arizona, then what is your interest in the Mojave?" she wondered.

Then she looked at the newcomer of the White Glove Society and acknowledged Cj with a nod. "Good to see someone else decided to join the Convention. I just hope you are not as war-minded as some others here," she said with an exasperated smile and a shrug.
