Lucky 38 Convention

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 6:37 am

Raynor smiled gently to Alice.
''Well of course, our weapons never fail, especially now. Everyone, take notice of our happy customer cause she knows what she is talking about. Now Alice im sure your guards were happy with their toys too.''
He then took up a bottle of wine and started to drink it gently. It looked as if the Strip had changed the trigger happy, gun loving cowboy like person

Alice gave Raynor an admiring look. "You certainly seem to be doing well and if I may say, you seem much calmer and relaxed compared to the last convention. By the way, my guards are really happy with the weapons and I can actually afford to place an order for a few new, shall we say, toys," she said and handed a list to Raynor. The two Follower guards, who so far had stayed in the background, nodded approvingly and grinned at each other.

"Let me know when we can expect deliver," she added with a smile.

The list contained the following items:

6 Riot Shotguns
several boxes of 12 gauge ammo
1 .45 Auto Pistol
several boxes of .45 auto ammo

OOC: With Helios set at full region, I wonder how often we can expect blackouts. This might be an issue. Alice has the data on Poseidon energy and she's been working with a team to develop renewable energy. Now, I never played Fallout 1 or 2, so I'm not quite certain if the data ED-D carried was actually some sort of blueprint for an energy source or what exactly the Followers have on their hands there. LOL Any tips, suggestions are welcome.

OOC: (i dont know what THIS means but) The blackouts shouldnt be that much of a problem, since we have the Dam, and all electricity is going to the Mojave and not 95% to NCR. I dont think there are any blackouts.

Raynor smiles.''Yeah, i have been doing remarkably well lately, no wonder why the Omertas and the chairmen like the Strip so much. Of course its nothing compared to Freeside.'' He said laughing.
He takes the list, and carefully inspects it, giving it to one of the guards, that immediately marches outside.
''That shouldnt be a problem, we have all that at stock over in our HQ near Freeside. We will send it right over, along with some extra ammunition. Wouldnt want your boys getting bored.''
After the last sentence he laughed, along with his 3 guards that were left.

James carbone- NCR

*James enteres the roomand sits down.*

"Hello everyone since the last convention a dozen or so NCR cizitens who were trapped within the mojave have moved in and restarted the town of Niption. they are doing well and have asked me to speak for any business deals you may wish to do with the town."

"Also we have discovered the scoure of radation at searclight, inside the fire station there are two fire trucks that before the war were carrying dangerous radativace waste until the legion broke in and opened them, killing them in the process."

*James turns and faces Lobobmite"

" I was wondering is we could make somesort deal Lobotomite and get some of your mutants to remove these firetrucks, we can then move back into the town and restart the gold mines."

Hello, I am Jackson Samuel from Novac.

I wonder if the NCR would be interested in opening up trading towns in Novac.

We are a growing town with a road directly to the 188 that leads straight to Freeside then the Strip.

I hope you take it into consideration.

Raynor walks into the huge tower, which he had been itching to go into since the courier announced the new convention. He also has a few other deals to make with the Khans and others, and since the Gun Runner′s business in Primm (Gingy you forgo to announce that) have gone fine, their new office over in the Strip, which Raynor himself has made a successful office in which he runs the show. No visitors are allowed, and trespassers are shot on sight, due to the Gun Runners being afraid of their pre war secrets to be stolen. Right now, he has been striking rich with all the deals he has been making. He wears a rich looking gambler outfit, along with a expensive hat and authority glasses, now upgraded his 9mm to 44. Magnum, now accompanied by 4 guards with MKII combat armor armed with both heavy weapons and assault rifles.
He looks at the barbarian looking Khan and smiles.
''Imam, how are the Khans? My associates and me are willing to open up new trades to your people in Wyoming, as you can see, we are the most successful arms merchant in the area and also back west, and we have heard your people are doing good.''
Looking at Kent, he took up a briefcase.
''Mr.Kent, we noticed you were in need of guns to. Imam and Kent, look at our wares and tell us if they are good enough for you, im sure you would be satisfied by a long term deal with us.''
He then smiled satisfied and sat there with his glasses

Hello, I wish to make a deal with the Gun Runners.

I plan to one day have a decent militia so I can defend my own region instead of having friends like Black Mountain and Nellis do it alone.

Would you be willing to arm my men?

Senior Paladin Garret Hartley - Brotherhood of Steel

A loud clanking can be heard from the stairs as the Brotherhood representative fully decked out in full T-51B Power Armor lumbers towards the meeting room. Entering the V.I.P lounge, the armored figure looks around the room to see which dignitaries have already arrived. After giving everyone a once over the senior paladin makes his way around the table until he locates his seat.

Plopping down in his assigned seat he crosses his arms and turns to the Courier. "Why has our presence been requested to attend this convention?", the power armored voice demands irritatedly.

Hello Senior Paladin.
I hope the Brotherhood is prospering in Indepedance.

Alice Swift - FoA Rep

Alice steps out of the elevator and takes in the assembled members of the various factions. Her eyes widened when she saw Kruser, for she thought the Legion had completely withdrawn into Arizona.

Then her eyes fell on Hartley. Good, good, the Brotherhood actually sent a representative this time, she thought.

"Gentlemen, it's a pleasure to see you all again," she said and remained standing. "I'm sorry if I'm interrupting anything, but I would just like to give you all a quick updated on a few things. As you all know, we cleaned up Vault 34 and converted it into a hospital. I would like to thank everyone here who supported us in this endeavor, first and foremost the Courier, for making this possible. The Old Mormon Fort has been fully converted into our headquarter. So, we are still only a few steps away from the Strip," she added, then she consulted her notes. "I would also like to mention that the Freeside-Westside co-op is thriving. We actually added a few farming plots and are now producing fresh food in abundance, which raised the living quality of the people in our area. Kids can actually eat a fresh apple a day," she reported with a broad smile and a nod towards Mr. Kent.

Then she turned to Raynor. "Your weapons actually came in handy, during the Vault 34 clean up. Thanks again for the discount," she told him with a wink.

"Imam, good to see you here. Your supply of Stimpaks and Fixers are a great blessing to the Hospital and I'm glad we were able to strike a deal." Alice said.

Alice looked around and saw an empty chair next to Senior Paladin Hartley and took it. "Good to see you here, Hartley. I know you don't usually share knowledge with outsiders, but I think we have some data that might interest you. If we work together, we might be able to bring an abundance of renewable energy to the Mojave," she said cryptically, and then turned her attention back to the Courier and the meeting.

Hello Alice Swift, I would like to ask the Followers to open a small hospital in Novac that could be used for the entire region.

It would greatly benefit everybody if you have the man power.

The Courier-New Vegas

Would Novac like to join the united Mojave States?

It depends what exactly it is and what land is under my jurisdiction.

Major Connor-Boomers

That sounds very generous. Very well, we will send a squad of Boomers to protect your town, they should arrive in several hours.

Thank-you.

You will be a huge help.
The Courier-New Vegas *The Courier finishes his scotch* I am glad the Legion attended this time. Hopefully now we can install good diplomatic relations with them. Perhaps we can give them access to the Fort and Cottonwood Cove once more and give them a small state near Cottonwood Cove. With that being said, perhaps you could be the "Survivalists" section of the United Mojave Army. However, if the Legion steps a toe out of line, I will withdraw my side of this bargain. Just keep in mind that inside the Mojave, slavery, crucifixism, and murder are not allowed and anyone participating in such activities will be apprehended by the state that it occurs in or the Securitrons of New Vegas. Slave trading will not go on inside our borders. The Mojave now consists of several states, but I was wondering.... Could the Brotherhood of Steel join the United Mojave Army? We could use a section of our military with people who value and understand tech. Hidden Valley would also be recognized as a small Brotherhood state for the time being. Perhaps we could call it "Counter-Intelligence Section". *The Courier Laughs* (By the way, HELIOS One was powered to give electricity to the full region). OOC: Out for a few hours.

Please do not let the Legion take back Cottonwood Cove, they would have the power to take over my settlement by the end of the week.

Would it be too much to ask if I could have Cottonwood?

If the Legion become, or are, my enemies it would be easier to keep them across a river.

A handful of riot shotguns, some 5.56 pistols, a few Marksman Carbines, and a few 12.7mm SMGs would be fantastic.

And are your people well trained with these guns as well? My future militia may be able to use them but not to their full effecticeness.

And would the Gun Runners like to open a shop in Novac? You'll be able to meet traders and caravans heading to the Strip before the rest at the 188. You'll also have a close place to send your traders to Arizona and with a shop in a town with roads all over the Mojave you'll gain much business.

I hope you take it into consideration, it's the only way Novac can remain economically stable after I make such an expensive purchase.

Oh and Primm, since the Courier is out, do you know our borders? And who owns Nipton's ruins?

I've been out and no nothing of my neighbors which I apologize for.

Johnny Gozallo-Goodsprings

*Johnny enters the room with the other delegates, noticing, and somewhat fearing, the metal man*

"Hello again. Might I say that Primm's help has done wonders and it's certainly relieved some burdens on our small town. Now, with that business sorted we are looking to expand a shorter route from our town, heading into Vegas. The northern road seems like an appealing path, but since the Khans left Red Rock a lot more critters have moved in on the road, mostly Cazadors. We'd be extremely grateful if someone could exterminate these pests, opening trade routes into Vegas.

Raynor says something to one of his bodyguard, that takes up another briefcase of submachine guns.
''Yeah, but we do not have the required manpower to open up a big enough business in Novac, but if you can support us with a place there, then we can start a small shop there. And yeah, all our guards are trained with projectile guns, both handling and maintaining, but not manufacturing. We might send one of our asocciates over with a guard or two, they will bring you what you need, and set up shop, there.''
Raynor took of his glasses.''Not very smart to have sunglasses inside, ill give you all that.''

In return we will give you a building tax free for four years.

You can put up as many signs for the Gun Runners as what can fit on the side of the road!

James carbone- NCR
Hello, I am Jackson Samuel from Novac.

We are a growing town with a road directly to the 188 that leads straight to Freeside then the Strip.

I hope you take it into consideration.

Hello and Ofcourse we would love to start trading with you.

However i should point out with the problems on long 15 we aren't getting much though or atleast in the terms of caravans and goods people would want to trade.... We have however found a slighty longer but safer route Intro the mojave that leads out roughy by niption once that route is propely set up we would love to start trade.

There are also some Northern routes which some people are taking but they are out of place for Novac

Hello Alice Swift, I would like to ask the Followers to open a small hospital in Novac that could be used for the entire region.

It would greatly benefit everybody if you have the man power.

I would like to make a similar offer for Niption, it could also act as a supply hub for supplies coming and going from California and arzionia.

Same deal applies for Gun runners but the have a factory on vegas and califorina so i'm not sure if it is needed.

Please do not let the Legion take back Cottonwood Cove, they would have the power to take over my settlement by the end of the week.
Would it be too much to ask if I could have Cottonwood?

If the Legion become, or are, my enemies it would be easier to keep them across a river.

I recommend giving it to either us or the Brotherhood, a military force will hopefully defer any invasion force and if not they should be able to defend the area long enough for reinforcements and get word to nearby towns.

And would the Gun Runners like to open a shop in Novac? You'll be able to meet traders and caravans heading to the Strip before the rest at the 188. You'll also have a close place to send your traders to Arizona and with a shop in a town with roads all over the Mojave you'll gain much business.

Although not "offically" owned by the NCR, an dozen or so NCR cizitens who were trapped within the mojave have moved in and restarted the town of Niption. they are doing well and have asked me to speak for any business deals you may wish to do with the town."

about an month ago one of them found the new route, since then we have a small army camp set up in Niption whlist we secure the route for caravans and traders.

There are also some Northern routes which some people are taking but they are out of place for Novac

The Boomers are going to help us secure the road up to Novac and Black Moutain is going to help guard the road to the 188 so the Long 15 will be safer than ever.

That and the militia I am forming would be more than enough to gurantee the safety of any of your caravans.

We can also make a trading deal with your people in Nipton.

I would like to make a similar offer for Niption, it could also act as a supply hub for supplies coming and going from California and arzionia.

Same deal applies for Gun runners but the have a factory on vegas and califorina so i'm not sure if it is needed.

Although that would be best for trading with California and Arizona they are still enemies.

I recommend Novac because it is a good area to trade with the Mojave and Arizona. All you need to reach California traders from here is walk down the now safe road to Nipton.

I recommend giving it to either us or the Brotherhood, a military force will hopefully defer any invasion force and if not they should be able to defend the area long enough for reforciments and get word to nearby towns.

Well if the Great Khans accept my invotation to an alliance and the Boomers and Black Mountain are willing to help we would be more than a match for any Legionaries.

And I trust the Brotherhood only a little more than the Legion so I would ask the Courier not to put them in charge of Cottonwood either. For the safety of the to Novac.

Although not "offically" owned by the NCR, an dozen or so NCR cizitens who were trapped within the mojave have moved in and restarted the town of Niption. they are doing well and have asked me to speak for any business deals you may wish to do with the town."

Perhaps you would like to have Nipton join my alliance then?

We can make sure that it will remain safe, we can help it with agriculture, and trade will be abundant.

It could work like a confederacy, have all of us part of a group and we vote on issues.

In return I will see to it that my people clear Searchlight with radiation suits and help NCR miners with the many gold mines in the area.

Oh and would Primm like to enter a trading agreement with Novac?

With how trade is set up right now we may be rivals but I would prefer becoming partners.

Sammy Rallo, Chairmen Rep.

*The door opened and Sammy strode in, obviously impressed by the interior of the classy yet eerie Lucky 38. He gave a wide berth to the mutant and the BoS Paladin, having little idea whom or what they were, taking his designated place.*

"Ring-a-Ding, classy indeed, I see why House wanted this place all to himself. Down to business then, the Chairmen think that there needs to be another entrance to the Strip, a gate from the Camp Mcarran area; if this comes to pass, the Chairmen want dibbs on the old hotel by Mcarran for reworking. Additionally, perhaps the monorail could also be repaired to full effectiveness so that people can travel around the Vegas area with speed and style."

*Sammy poured himself a glass of whisky, a special Khan brew, brought from the Tops, however, he was careful not to drink as much as last time.*

"Also, we want a slice of the fine-dining pie, we want fresh vegetables grown from the local area and freshly butchered Brahmin Tri-weekly; to this end, we want to make deals with the Freeside and Westside farmers. We also want more advertising for the Tops out in Vegas and are willing to pay locals to rejuvenate Pre-war signs and create newer ones and flyers too, I'm sure there would be ample machinery for this purpose in the Vegas area. Plenty of employment to be had here."

*Sammy turned to face The Courier.*

"And, uh, Bossman, we need those NCR customers back, they were the Strip's best customers. Perhaps you could work with the NCR to provide safe passage to Vegas?"

Hello Mr. Rallo.

I could help provide the brahmin and crops for the Chairmen as well as advertising in return for money and jobs in helping you with such projects.

I have been wondering, would you or any other casino family like to open a smaller casino in Novac?

It would obviously be dwarfed next to the Strip but it would be a good way for you to profit off of locals who can't afford to go to the Strip and citizens who are unwilling to make the long jounrey.

"I'll have to come back to you on the Bhramin as it would be more convenient for our food to be sourced in a closer area, however, Swank did tell me to look out for entrepreneurial chances, so, a casino in Novac could be a great venture for both the Chairmen and Novac. The Tops is all about good fun with no strings attached, I think something similar but smaller would work well in Novac. Do you have any suitable area for a casino, keeping in mind that we would likely need a dining area and a stage for local acts?"

Ambassador Steve Henderson - Mayor of Primm,

*Steve walked into the room, he was wearing a smart new suit with a holstered Gun-runner .45 pistol, he was backed by two bodyguards both wearing suits of what were NCRCF suits, now redesigned to say MSCF (Mojave States Correctional Facility) holding Service rifles*

*Steve takes his seat*

"Hello all. The first order of business for Primm is that we are lacking the manpower necessary to fully secure both the Prison and the highway for caravans and tourists. while there is little threat of the prisoners escaping or the highway becoming unsafe we feel that is better to be safe than sorry, to achieve the security of both the prison and highway we ask if there is anyone who can spare and manpower to help with the guarding of the prison or highway?"

Well there is the Dino Dee-Lite Front Desk which is a decent sized room where a stage could be constructed.

And for local acts there is a large tent we have that could be constructed right outside if the Dino Dee-Lite is too small.

I suppose it's an option, but I'm looking for more of a fighting force as of now, as I'd like to open the northern road as soon as possible.

Well the Boomers, Black Mountain, or the Khans would be good for a quick extermination.

To make sure they don't come back how about a few members of either the Boomers, the Khans, the nightin or my militia, or a mix of them all, remain in Red Rock to keep an eye on them and possible to open up a new settlement.

My men would be willing to guard the highway in exchange for a business deal.

Since your land and mine are the only ways to Vegas and one of the best ways from the NCR to Arizona how about we set up regulations we both have to follow?

Such as making it illegal for caravans to be taxed above a certain amount and make sure prices cannot drop down too low to make sure that neither of us is cheated out of trade and we all mutually benefit.

working on a post but wanted to point out

Spoiler
Problems on the long 15 are caused by the Nukes the Courier set of in LSR and the radation from that. the army and people in Rad-suit can get though this but the average traveler cannot, has nothing to do with dangers on the road ;)

There are other route however, like the Nitpon passage but most are longer and more expensive for traders.

My guy is going to be suggesting a Tunnel in upcoming post.

I had a brain dead moment when I confused the road to Novac with the Long 15.

OOC: So I guess that's another reason Goodsprings would want the northern road.

Alice laughed with Raynor. "Oh trust me, my "boys" are everything but bored right now. We have much accomplished in the past four months, but much more work still awaits us. By the way, I really appreciate working with you and the Gun Runners, you have been more than fair in your dealings, and for that we are thankful." Alice smiled at Raynor and then turned her attention towards Jackson Samuel.

Hello, I am Jackson Samuel from Novac.

Hello Alice Swift, I would like to ask the Followers to open a small hospital in Novac that could be used for the entire region.

It would greatly benefit everybody if you have the man power.

Alice smiled at Mr. Samuel. "Pleasure to meet you, Jackson. We are still in the middle of completing the set up of our hospital, located in the former Vault 34. It will serve all the region. What happened to your Dr. Straus? Is she no longer in Novac? If she is in need of assistance, medical supplies or further training, she will be always welcome at the hospital, any of your people as well, of course. We can certainly work with Dr. Straus, if she's still in the area, to outfit her office, maybe get her better equipment to treat patients, that sort of thing. Let me know your thoughts on the subject and I'm sure we can come to some kind of arrangement," she said.

She looked at James, "Oh, I'm glad to hear that things are looking up in Nipton. Of course they would also need a trained medic on site, since it's a bit out of the way. I could sent someone over there, once we are done in Novac. Maybe you have a past NCR medic in mind that could be further trained to act as the towns doctor?" Alice suggested.

Sammy Rallo, Chairmen Rep.

*Sammy turned to face The Courier.*

"And, uh, Bossman, we need those NCR customers back, they were the Strip's best customers. Perhaps you could work with the NCR to provide safe passage to Vegas?"

You can blame those dogs over there for blowing up the road. *stares at legionaire*

" However along with new route a few people back west have suggested an Tunnel though the moutains that comes out roughly between goodsprings & Primm, it would increase business in the towns whlist making it safer for travellers."

"However before anything was planned,we wanted to know what you though"

Well if the Great Khans accept my invotation to an alliance and the Boomers and Black Mountain are willing to help we would be more than a match for any Legionaries.

And I trust the Brotherhood only a little more than the Legion so I would ask the Courier not to put them in charge of Cottonwood either. For the safety of the Long 15 and for Novac.

If we form an Alliance, Ncr and Novac troops can keep the town safe for our Cizitens.

Sounds good to me but I will have to run it by the Niption mayor first. although we will also need supermuatnts for those firetrucks, no way can a human can lift them.

I shall also see if i can get an ranger sqaud and an army instructor sent to Novac to help with any secuirty forces that need training and town protection.

We can certainly work with Dr. Straus, if she's still in the area, to outfit her office, maybe get her better equipment to treat patients, that sort of thing. Let me know if that would suffice," she said.

There was a very bad issue a few weeks ago involving Dr. Straus.

A young boy had been playing to close to the Radioactive Waste Dump and when he tripped and cut his knee it became infected. That would've been easy to deal with, a little Rad Away and it'd be all clear but Dr. Straus was out of Rad Away and instead of waiting for more to come because a caravan wasn't supposed to show up for three weeks she amputated the boys leg.

The mother was furious. So angry infact that she marched down to Dr. Straus's medical tent and shot her twenty something times with a 9mm pistol.

She was dead by the time anybody else could get there. If you could spare even a trainy medic that would be great.

And although Vault 34 will make an excellent hospital it is a few days trip from Novac and even longer for places like Primm and Nipton.

If anything I think a hospital should be opened in Nipton so that people could head north to Vault 34 or south to Nipton.

You can blame those dogs over there for blowing up the road. *stares at legionaire*

Sounds like you'll need the help of Goodsprings, Primm, and the Boomers for that project.

I think it would be better to make the tunnel higher up in the mountain to make it less likely that the whole tunnel will collapse.

Excellent, we'll be able to keep all of the southern Mojave safe from this deal.

And it would be unbelievably helpful to send Rangers and an army instructor.

I am sorry but I have already offered the Great Khans to use Ranger Station Charlie but if you want to use an old Ranger base there is still Echo.

If we can get some NCR troops into the area then they would need their own home.
