Lucky 38 Convention

Alice looked full of concern at Jackson. "I'm really sorry to hear about Dr. Straus," then she sat back and pondered the issue for a moment.

Suddenly, her eyes lit up, as an idea began to form in her head. "Gentlemen, all the talk about Cottonwood Cove gave me an idea. If we keep it in Mojave hand's, and we should, one of the buildings there would be a perfect place to establish a small clinic for the Southern region. The location is excellent for recuperating patients and it is easily accessible for the towns of Novac, Primm, Nipton, Nelson and even Goodsprings, if necessary," she said and looked around with a satisfied smile.

OOC: LOL Sebor, killing of Dr. Straus, shame on you! hahahaha

Excellent idea.

Perhaps the NCR could help us hold it if they use Ranger Station Echo.

There could also be help from Black Mountain, the Boomers, and the Gret Khans.

My help is guranteed.

Oh and it is alright. Thankfully Straus didn't even feel it.

OOC: I didn't like her much and since everybody complained about her medical training why not?

Sounds like you'll need the help of Goodsprings, Primm, and the Boomers for that project.
Goodsprings would gladly assist by sending a few farmhands to work on this passage.

Sounds like a brilliant idea Ms Swift. If the I-15 passage is completed, it should provide easy access to the clinic.

Alice Swift - FoA Rep

Alice nodded at Jackson and Johnny. "I'm glad you agree. Now, we just need the Courier to approve this venture and I am sure I can spare a few of my associates to go over the condition of the building, the layout and see what would be needed to establish a clinic at Cottonwood Cove. I will then discuss the details with you and see how your towns can best help in this venture. Also, NCR, Boomers or Nightkin, if either one of you could sent a few men or women to help with the clean up or guard duty, I would be much obliged."

Alice leaned back and looked expectantly at the others.

Sammy Rallo, Chairmen Rep.

"I think a reception would be too small for a stage in Novac, how about we put up the casino outside Novac? Maybe opposite the old ranger station, or next to the road leading to that old Reppcon station? That would provide a lot more room, and the noise wouldn't keep everybody awake at night."

It depends what exactly it is and what land is under my jurisdiction.

Please do not let the Legion take back Cottonwood Cove, they would have the power to take over my settlement by the end of the week.

Would it be too much to ask if I could have Cottonwood?

If the Legion become, or are, my enemies it would be easier to keep them across a river.

The Courier-New Vegas

The Legion can have their fort back, and I will not authorize them to inhabit Cottonwood Cove, if that is what you wish.

In that case, your state would stretch from Novac to Nipton to Cottonwood. A rather large state, actually, but that area is quite populated, so it might be necessary.

I think it would be better to make the tunnel higher up in the mountain to make it less likely that the whole tunnel will collapse.

Like i said nothing has been done yet, we wanted to see what you though before we started planning, this includes postion. You're suggestion will be noted ;).

Excellent, we'll be able to keep all of the southern Mojave safe from this deal.

And it would be unbelievably helpful to send Rangers and an army instructor.

I am sorry but I have already offered the Great Khans to use Ranger Station Charlie but if you want to use an old Ranger base there is still Echo.

If we can get some NCR troops into the area then they would need their own home.

No problem we shall be setting up an Army camp In niption, in the old trailer camp and once we get searchlight cleared we can use the airport as a base of operations.

As for Echo a sqaud of ranger is aready there, A sqaud stayed behind to keep an eye of legion, incase they started anything...."

A clinic their would be a great idea! and ofcourse I shall send a few soldiers over to keep it secure, I shall also ask the Followers back in NCR if they wish to send anyone, they will go with the soldiers.

Although Not in Novac, the Niption town hall would be great place for a casino, the Town Mayor acttually asked me if to contact an casino company since they have no use of building.

OOC: If you want these threads to last longer, I would suggest making larger posts like Sebor does instead of bunches of little ones. We're about a quarter of the way to the post limit already.

(I'm gonna see how long it takes them to lock it after we go over 200, instead of ending before 200)

OOC: Very busy with schoolwork, I can't post every hour of every day like some of the other people do, sorry. I should be able to post a lot more often this weekend, though.

Alice nodded and smiled gratefully at the Courier. And then she sprang into action.

"This means more work for us, but work we gladly do. With the radio broadcast we established, using the Black Mountain array, more people were able to find their way out of the Mojave and into the safety of our towns. The Followers have actually grown in the past few months, since more and more regular citizens decided to join us and do some good. We've trained people in the use of medicine and how to take care of various injuries. We were fortunate that a few former NCR medics decided to join us," she said and took a breath.

Then she waved one of her guards over and instructed him to return to HQ and ask Julia Farkas with a few guards to head down to Cottonwood to assess the situation.

"Now, Gentlemen, maybe you could sent a delegate from your towns to Cottonwood as well and we can start working together to establish this clinic, and also clean up the place, while we are there." Satisfied, she crossed her arms and leaned back in her chair.

OOC: I thought the point of going for the independent ending was to avoid one person becoming someone who can pretty much stop anything they want and dominate proceedings and I feel the Courier is becoming that, what with the courier banning the legion from the Mojave and everyone running to him for approval. I also think that for the next convention which isn't just a continuation of this one that Nipton should be a separate faction.

Ambassador Steve Henderson - Mayor of Primm

"I feel a tunnel to properly connect the NCR and the mojave would be an excellent idea, the people of Primm will gladly help out with such a project. As for the clinic at Cottonwood cove I feel it is a bit far for an injured person to travel so we will not be supply any men or materials, we will, however donate some caps"

Oh and about that wild life problem north of Goodsprings perhaps the NCR Rangers coming in to help secure my land could take care of it.

"I think a reception would be too small for a stage in Novac, how about we put up the casino outside Novac? Maybe opposite the old ranger station, or next to the road leading to that old Reppcon station? That would provide a lot more room, and the noise wouldn't keep everybody awake at night."

That would better.
Or perhaps Nelson?

It would be also open to any new traders or any other casino families who wish to open a smaller casino in Novac's territory.

And we will make sure to have signs posted advertising this new casino, watch should it be called?

The Courier-New Vegas

You have my approval.

That is a large amount of land, I will make sure to make the best of this oppritunity for all who live here.

Oh and who owns the area north of me? Like HELIOS One and the 188?

Like i said nothing has been done yet, we wanted to see what you though before we started planning, this includes postion. You're suggestion will be noted .

Would you mind helping Goodsprings with their wild life problem if they ask?

Oh and I was thinking how about there are two types of soldiers the NCR could train for us?

One would be with the weapons I have already asked the Gun Runners for and would guard towns and roads while the others would hunt down criminals and investagte illegal activity.

I was thinking they should be Guardians and Hunters.

I would need reinforced combat armor and the weapons already ordered except 10mm SMGs instead of 12.7mm for the Guardians and bounty hunters' dusters, .45 pistols, assault carbines, more marksman carbines, 12.7mm SMGs, and hunting shotguns. Would that be alright with the Gun Runners?

And Maybe Nipton could become more of a trading hub? Like the Gun Runners, Crimson Caravan, Van Graffs, and any other caravan companies could hold offices there and head either northeast to Novac or northwest to Primm.

Oh and just to set some rules how about NCR soldiers can only be on duty outside of all towns in my area except for Nipton. Rangers can remain on duty anywhere.

How about that trading deal I offered earlier of both of us regulating prices so people don't sell it too low and taxes so nobody can charge too much?

And are you part of the United Mojave Army? And can you explain it if so?

Alice nodded at Steve Henderson, "I completely understand and it wasn't my intention for injured people to travel a long ways. The Clinic will be like a head quarter for the region. We could have doctors travel around once a week to the various towns and basically look after the people there. The clinic will have all the instruments we need, if say for instance, someone needs surgery. Once that clinic is set up, we could start looking for property on the western end of the Mojave. The Followers ultimate goal will be to provide medical service to everyone in the Mojave and establish a clinic in every area, north, south, east and west. A clinic that will be easily reachable from every location. Also please know that we will gladly accept your donation. Furthermore, I understand your decision not to provide immediate help for the Cottonwood Cover project, but can I count on your assistance if we find anything closer to Primm?" Alice asked with a smile.

OOC: True, the Courier sounds like the President of the "New Mojave Nation". So, do we need to ask permission for everything? Why couldn't the Followers just establish a hospital at Camp Golf? Why did they just get shoved into some vault? LOL =p Anyway, maybe we need to re-think some of the replies. I still think it's an awesome Convention, Gingy! Thanks again for putting it together! Oh and I'm at work, so yea, I can post all day long =p hahahaha

"A casino in Nipton would be a good idea, but I think it would be best to fix up the Bison Steve in Primm. If Primm Pass is cleared of Deathclaws, people from Novac could easily get to Primm."

"I understand the Bison Steve may already be occupied by the Gun Runners, but if the Bison Steve acted as both Gun Runners outlet and Casino, business would be boosted by both types of customers. This could be a great opportunity. Citizens from Primm and Novac would be employed to promote and fix up the new casino."

Raynor looked at his business partner, taking even more piece of paper, then saying something to the other bodyguard, who nodded.
''Yes, we can indeed supply you with that, but we would need to send an additional gun caravan, and it would take a week. But we got no bounty hunter dusters, but we have alot of reinforced combat armor on stock.''

Raynor smiled friendly to Sammy.
''Rallo, i understand your will to make as much money as possible, strings or not, but how can we trust you in the same building as our guns? And surely, we would have to make room for you, and renovate it much. In that case, you would have to pay for the renovation, plus we might be able to relocate some of our resources to other places, and that isn't coming out of my pocket friend.'' He put his glasses back on, smiling so much, that it looked like he was gonna laugh, and pulled his hat down, the Gun Runner guards with a grin on their face.

''Excuse me Sammy, but did you just call me a waste rat? And indeed of course you could have pillaged us, but thats not your way, thing is its hard to trust a whole family of tribals that live in the same building, its not the same as trusting them with a shipment, bear in mind we also got pre war secrets in our Bison Steve facility, and if you even as much as try to do anything, you will be gunned down. Waste rat? Me? I was making guns when u were still making spears, so you shouldnt be saying anything.''
Raynor looked at the courier and then at the mayor of Primm.

Johnny Gozallo-Goodsprings

We will welcome the NCR support, but we certainly don't want you svcking up Goodsprings, also would you be capable of securing the road, maybe from Ranger Station Foxtrot. If the road does get cleared, trade would be welcome with Westside and other such parties.

Oh, and the Goodsprings hospital sounds good. Maybe you could have four hospitals on each side of the Mojave. Mormon Fort (North) Nelson or Novac (East) Cottonwood or Nipton (South) Goodsprings (West) It'll provide fair travel checkpoints for medical assistance.

The Lobotomite - Ambassador of Black Mountain
Sounds good to me but I will have to run it by the Niption mayor first. although we will also need supermuatnts for those firetrucks, no way can a human can lift them.
"I will send 4 of my kin to help the Two Headed Bear in this task. In exchange I would like to setup a small outpost in the town."

*Turns back to address the entire meeting.*
"Now that this matter is done I would like to move onto my proposal. I would like to slightly extend the territory of Black Mountain to gain ownership of Quarry Junction. A working quarry will be an immensely valuable asset to the Mojave and we will provide anyone within its borders with mined material at a well discounted price."

Alright, we'll just have to wait for Goodsprings to make a comfirmation.

And I agree on everything you have said except that Hunters would be disguised when necessary, otherwise they need camoflauge for the wastes.

Raynor looked at his business partner, taking even more piece of paper, then saying something to the other bodyguard, who nodded.

Alright then. How about Primm or Nipton then?

Raynor did not smile this time
''Excuse me Sammy, but did you just call me a waste rat? And indeed of course you could have pillaged us, but thats not your way, thing is its hard to trust a whole family of tribals that live in the same building, its not the same as trusting them with a shipment, bear in mind we also got pre war secrets in our Bison Steve facility, and if you even as much as try to do anything, you will be gunned down. Waste rat? Me? I was making guns when u were still making spears, so you shouldnt be saying anything.''
Raynor looked at the courier and then at the mayor of Primm.
''I trust you guys will do the right, and keep an eye on things, i dont want my boys to get injured. Also it would be a waste of ammo.''
He then took up a paper and a pen and started writing something, while sipping occasionally from his wine bottle.

No need for any hostilities, we're all on the same side here.

*Kruser looks to the Courier deeply considering his offer

"Well, the Fort should be ours on one condition, we can do what we wish with trespassers, no exceptions"

I'd like to make a deal with the Legion.

If you can send us a Frumentarii to help train my hunters. If they're as good as I've heard more than one is likely still in the Mojave so that shouldn't be a problem.

In return we will give you free crops and open up our towns to traders from your territory but none can remain permenant residents.

The Lobotomite - Ambassador of Black Mountain

"I will send 4 of my kin to help the Two Headed Bear in this task. In exchange I would like to setup a small outpost in the town."

*Turns back to address the entire meeting.*
"Now that this matter is done I would like to move onto my proposal. I would like to slightly extend the territory of Black Mountain to gain ownership of Quarry Junction. A working quarry will be an immensely valuable asset to the Mojave and we will provide anyone within its borders with mined material at a well discounted price."

I support you on this, Black Mountain would be the best to be in charge of Quarry Jiunction.

*Kruser looks to Raynor

"The headquarters in Arizona is doing a fine job in helping defend Arizona, i trust buisness is well for you"?
Raynor looked over to the heavily dressed Frumentarii, and replied.
''Yes, we have been doing better then ever, we have been doing business with Primm, the Mojave Army, who is growing, which means more income for us, which gives us more room to expand, plus we did a deal with the Boomers and right now we are looking forward to opening up a small shop over in Novac, also we are willing to try to set up trade with the Khans and hopefully others. Along with that, the families have been reeling on us to supply them so far, and im hoping that wont change.''

He then looks at the respectful leader of Novac.
''Im sorry, but its hard to remain civil at these meetings, it makes a old man stressful.''

Sammy Rallo, Chairmen Rep.

"You, Raynor? A waste rat? Oh, you have me all wrong."

*Sammy winked slyly.*

"Why of course it's not our way to pillage, because we have class and we don't need to, the Chairmen are as trusty as they get. And.. threats won't get you far, Raynor, remember that."

"I'm sure the Mayor of Primm will be overjoyed to have lost all that potential revenue. A shame."

*Sammy turns back to the Novac rep.*

"Well then. Nipton it is. We could revitalise the town and build a casino there for sure. The surrounding houses could be rented out too."

OOC: I assume everything in game is much smaller than what it would be in the RP, therefore there should be plenty of space in Nipton.
