Lucky 38, The SINK, safehouse, or other?

Post » Sat Aug 06, 2011 3:33 am

What do u use as a safehouse? I use the followers safehouse because you can acces it easyli (unlike the lucky 38 or the SINK, because there's sometimes LONG waiting screens on the PS3) I know almost ALL use the sink, because it's obvious the best, but i'll like to hear if someone still uses the lucky 38, a faction safehouse, or a third thing

I'm hoping for a new one to be added in LR (Maybe in the mojave :hubbahubba: ) So I don't have to use the Lucky 38 because its the only safehouse where companions can go.

Currently half my crap is in the abandoned BoS bunker and the other half is at the Sink so I kinda use both depending on what I need.

My stuff at Novac, companions at the Lucky 38, and my new friends are living in the SINK

Don't trust the abandoned BoS bunker...

Hey, if they could add those terminals for dismissing companions, they can add a previously blocked off way leading to a safehouse :P

All my base are belong to Novac even after I acquired the Lucky 38 suite, it was always more convenient to come to and from there stash and grab my gear because there was only 1 loading screen after the fast travel.

I contemplated moving to the Abandoned BoS Bunker but I was too lazy to haul all of my gear there. It was almost perfect though, all it needed was a campfire/hot plate and a source of water like a drinking fountain or sink.

But then OWB came along with it's cool sink CIU with merchant and repair and all the useful electronics (Auto Doc, Hydroponics) and a complete set of crafting tools (Hot Plate/Workbench/Reloading Bench) with strategically placed containers. Needless to say, I'll be relocating after I complete the OWB quests.

It doesn't take that long for me to get to the Sink, and I'm on PS3. I like The Sink, a lot. I've been spending some hours decorating it too :).

I`ve also been seduced by the many attractions of the sink and use it a lot, but I still like my lil room in novac as well as the worn out old camper in goodsprings.

Novac. Eventually the sink. I would have picked the lucky 38 f they changed 2 things.

1. Swap my room and the cocktail lounge, the view is great, its bright and looks nice, unlike my dark, red and downright depressing room.
2. Less loading screens. Make it a fast travel option. Becuas Freeside - strip - 38 - home is too many loading screens.

One of my characters maintains a few well stocked safe houses across the Mojave. Such as:

Lucky 38
Abandoned BoS Bunker
Novac Room
Followers Safehouse
Scavenger Platform
NCR Safehouse
That house Easy Pete lived in before I murdered him.

I use different safehouses for different things, like the sink to get rid of junk or pick up some salient green. If I need to sleep I'll usually just go to where I'm closest to. I have a room in every casino on the strip and the Atomic Wrangler, and I've lost count of how many little shacks and houses I've found in the wasteland.

I always use the Novac motel room, it just feels right to me.

Plus it has everything I need:

Fridge: Food
Cabinet: Weapons
Safe: Ammo, Stealthboys and Lead
Desk: Books/Mags
Footlocker: Misc Crafting Items
Wardrobe: Armor
Drawers: Clothing
Medkit: Medical Supplies
Briefcase: I stuff it with pre-war money

There's plenty of room for me to decorate and add my own flavor to the room as well, I don't really like to epeen it up by displaying weapons/armor all over. I just do stuff like keep a pack of cigs+some loose cigs and an ashtray on the table with a .45, and scotch and a shotglass sitting next to a brahmin steak on a plate with some silverware on the counter.

Really feels like my little home away from home in the wasteland, a low key base of operations.

I did use the abandoned BoS bunker for a while, had it decorated really nice. But i got fed up of being underground, so now ive moved to Guardian Peak. It's abandoned, has a nice big tent, a good choice of beds, plenty of footlockers, nice camp fire, a short walk to clean water. Yes i have the odd rat problem but thats sorted in seconds. At the top of the peak i have a compfy arm chair with table for my beer and cigs, the views are fantastic, especially watchin the sun go down.

Novac has always been my "low profile" safehouse. I keep food and drink items laying around so it feels "lived in". I'll probably keep a few things in there just for backup... :)

Followers or Ceasers Legion safe houses. Sink is really good but it gets annoying having to dismiss your companions just to swap out weapons. I still use the sink for crafting.

Recently I've been using the first house on the right when you enter Nipton across the street from the shop. Well I was while waiting for OWB to be released, seeing that it is close to the Mojave Drive-in.
I also use the Mojave Express Dropboxes to store a load of stuff. Before OWB it was Novac.

It doesn't take me long either and I'm also on PS3. Only problem is it occasionally dies FPS-wise when I try to leave. How's your base looking? Mine's mostly just decorated with guns  I'd love to make something unique in there... like I saw a Fallout 3 video of someone making a pyramid of Nuka-Cola Quantum bottles using chess boards in their Megaton home. It looked truly stunning!

I have one character that uses the SINK.
But the character I'm currently playing uses the BoS Safehouse, not the abandoned bunker, the actual Safehouse, where I get visits from Paladin Sato.
It doesn't take me long to get to the SINK, I've made it all homey-like aswell, got some nice looking stuff going on! :)

My only issues with the BoS SH are it's kinda small and sometimes stuff I drop don't drop, they just disappear, I think they fall underground or something.
