5 lunchboxes and...WOW

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 10:58 pm

It's absolutely my fault I know. I just wanted to share I payed for 5 lunchboxes and got NOTHING. Caps. I knew the risks but still...WOW

If anyone is thinking on spending some money on this I invite you to reconsider maybe spending it in something that is worth your money.

I have to agree. I've bought some lunchboxes and earned quite a few more in game, and I'd say that maybe 1 out of 10 of them have one decent item in them. And that's probably being generous.

During my Magic the Gathering days, getting nothing good from 5 booster packs wasn't uncommon. Has things changed in the past 15 years that explains the change of this perception?

I did the same thing around Halloween thinking I'd maybe get a couple of costumes, but nothing.

I don't mind paying to support a game I like, but I'd like to actually get something in return.

I do take umbrage with the claim that one is guaranteed to get a rare or legendary with each lunchbox when 500 caps counts as a "rare."

I share the same distaste, but the reality is that. Now, knowing the reality, how is this different from getting a "coaster" rare from a booster pack?

I also have the impression that they toned down the rate of drop of good items on the lunchboxes too. A couple of weeks ago, I got legendaries or rare weapons quite regularly with the lunchboxes, but with the latest update (post-halloween deco removal), I just get caps, and caps, and caps, and again. I ran a try where I started a vault and collected the easy lunchboxes from the first objectives. 15 lunchboxes opened, a few common items gotten, 2 rare dwellers, and 13 times caps.

This is an insane high amout of caps only lunchboxes ! It makes me mad because you NEED the rare weapons to defend your vault in Survival mode. I sit now with 20 dwellers and 25 000 caps +, and I didn't get a single rare weapon yet. This is horrible.

Don't buy lunchboxes, they are too random to be worth the money.

I have got 5 free boxes in the October update, that gave me 3 power armours.

Afterwards, I opened 31 boxes, and get only 4 legendaries, all from the 1st 2 weeks and all duplicates.

Now, there is not much hope to get legendary neither from the wasteland nor from the lunchboxes.

No point to keep on playing.

The only thing that's different is these people expect value for their money. Especially when the same money got them something nice a month ago.

Yeah they have killed the game with their greed. Reducing the likelihood of a legenary item in lunch boxes to make people buy more lunchboxes...

In all honesty I have one dweller with one stat below 10, once they get it to 10 I will level him to 50. Once that is done I will have 200 dwellers at level 50 and maxed stats. Since it is impossible to collect all items for free I will bring all my wanderers in snd quit playing... Because there is no point. Im not going to feed their greed.

I pulled Jericho in my first set of 5 as well. Haven't you guys learned how to game this yet?

I'll admit, Jericho and an early gauss rifle is making my experience pretty easy, but here are my methods.

1) I use Google Rewards because I have android. It is a Google app that gives you free money to spend in the google play store by taking the surveys the send you. Some things to note about it: You will get more surveys if you are a girl, google will actively send you fake surveys and pay you to take them all in the name of trying to find out if you're lying, and most of the surveys you may receive will be based off of your location (where it saw you shopping based on your location).

tl;dr - The above is where I get free money to spend on this game ($4 thus far)

2) THE REAL CHEAT:

Changing my phone's time or date forward WILL affect the game times. This means I can send Jericho into the waste for days in real time seconds and return him in real time seconds with boatloads of items. It is important to note that if your vault is not homeostatic (self-sustaining), fast-forwarding time like this will wreck it. Otherwise, babies are born and grow up instantly, stats are trained instantly, resources are ready instantly, etc. And while I don't know this for sure, in my experience, I am never raided or infested with anything or have any other kind of bad event while fast-forwarding time.

43 lunchboxes from objectives, and only one Legendary Dweller Piper, the rest was worthless to my vault or inventory!

It's actually counter productive. The more a person must pay to complete, the more likely they are to cheat via save game editors. Why pay hundreds if not thousands of dollars when it can be done for free? This is sadly why piracy, gold farmers, and save editors prevail: they give people what they want, regardless of what they would normally have to do to get it. When the cost becomes too high, the easy way is much more tempting because it's that much easier to justify, e.g. the publisher is charging a damn fortune for gameplay that was originally in the game, but got cut (kind of like launch day DLC, or here the NGD event).

I Opened Five from free achivements early in the game, and heres what I got as my "Rare"

MIRV

Amplified Laser Rifle

500 Caps

Heavy Vault Suit

500 Caps

3 / 5 were legendary?

Yass...

Well, No.

My other vaults got no legendaries from lunch boxes.

Just some rare dwellers .-.

Usually, there are 4 lunchboxes in the beginning.

If you are not satisfied, delete it and start again. It only take a few minutes.

I had tried many times until there is one legendary dwellers.
