lvl cap raise?

Changing damage to both you and the NPCs is how you make a game harder. What other way is there?

Better AI?

Rook

And about sponge bullets, believe me, some people at Bethesda forums hated it in BS, not only the "old fallout fans" but the "actual and new ones" too

We dont need that, we need more stronger enemies , with better and balanced stats, bullets sponges are just a walking waste of bullets , because they never went out of bullets, but you do

Those people probably didn t like them because the almost killed the walking tank they were controlling first time they saw one. "Bullet Sponges" did their job IMO

I agree on the better more even stats, right now all they could do is make super hit point enemies. The enemies need a total make over for fo4. Smarter is the best thing they can do for them. better equipment is next. Maybe a human enemy could try to heal themselves if they had a chance.

well they did use stims in the originals, improving theyr AI is a good idea but it's limited players will adapt to new tactics NPC's won't

Better AI?

In any game it is what it is. There is only so much you can do and the AI is what it is for a particular game. I play Stalker mostly and the AI is very fine there. To adjust difficulty within those parameters making damage more and less is the most effective way to adjust the difficulty.

What are you gonna do? Make the AI dumber for a easy level player. I don't think so. I have done some programming and that requires way too much work for any useful solution.

Well the first time I saw an Albino, Reaver or Overlord I sure as hell got killed.
But after facing a couple of each I learned my tactics and they stopped being a problem.
All it meant to face them was that I had to spend a longer time shooting at them.

SM overloard almost killed me with just a sledge hammer. That was the first one I saw. I had to holster my weapon run and take stims , or it would have killed me. The Reaver in the basemant of those ghoul cult people killed me. Killed my walking tank.....

I got used to them too, but at least I knew they could kill me.

You know the quote you have at the begining of your other thread is all over the internet???? Its the most solid info any site has. They are all going by that post. lol

Why is Bethesda like this????? Just some info on maybe a time frame.

Fallout is a stat based game where combat must be playable in a turn based fashion, not just real time. Smarter AI is not an option IMO.

I never even use VATS, i'm merely pointing out a limitation.

A suggestion, if I may? Have enemies aim for the head more often. God knows the Courier does it.

IIRC weapon CND affects spread/accurcy/aim.
So since most enemies use low CND weapons they get a penalty to their effect.
Whereas the players use fully repaired items.

As publisher, wouldn't Bethesda lay the ground rules of what they want Obsidian to be doing? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but since Bethesda owns the IP now, they ultimately call the shots even if Obsidian licensed for this particular game.

I don't want them to get guaranteed headshots, I want them to aim higher than the torso once in a while.

huh They just need to act smarter. There r some good shooters out there that the AI is much better.

You keep the hit point give them a brain give them more than 12-15 dt armour. Give them weapons that r able to hurt you.

I think it took a step back with CL. You snipe an Enclave check point there was fireballs flyinb through the air at you, or they were opening a cage to let a controlled death claw out.

CL They pace around with a machette or pull a used up 10 when I snipe them. Everyone talks about how tough their 12-15 dt is....Did they not know there r armour piercing bullets in this game.

I m not going to flip about CL again, but they r trash. I hear about assassin squads I ve seen 1 of these squads

Please take the time to comprehend my post next time. Fallout is not a skill based shooter, it's a stat based game that just happens to have guns in it. I don't see how combat maneuvers could be integrated with the current game mechanics.

If you have an idea that's more specific than "they need 2 b smart", by all means share it with us. I'd love to be proven wrong here.

EDIT: Sure they could turn the franchise into a full-blown shooter and degrade Fallout's traditional system to merely an upgrade/modern perk system if there's enough demand, but for now i'd like to keep this discussion within the confines that Bethesda has so far respected.

yes, Bethesda are in charge. Obsidian had to clear everything with Bethesda before putting it into New Vegas (story included)

I think he means "2 be smarter" is that you have 3 raiders on you and one goes right and one goes left while the third lays down covering fire. Instead of just rushing you. Some do seek cover but more "tactic's" in the game would be nice.

None of the 3 games (the other is Oblivion) have a smart AI to begin with it

I read in the Fookunity in regards to their nVamp section that the XP cap officially set by Obsidian was set high enough for the character to hit level 50. Since nVamp is supposed to allow you to level infinitely, but it stopped for some people at 50 due to the XP cap being maxed by some players.

And this would make sense; if there are four DLC's each adding 5 levels, then the cap would be 50. I wouldn't mind, I suppose, if they add harder and more complex AI, or even made the level raises optional, if this were true.

Obsidian believe in not creating a perfect character who maxes out all their skills.
So no, doubt they would want to raise the level cap again.

IF YOU READ MY POSTS IM TALKING ABOUT FOR FO4. This isn t D&D dude. The human enemies must act like they do not want to die. Some FPS have AI that act a little more like real people do. This engine can not be reworked in a dlc I ve said that about 3 times in this thread.
