Lycanthropy Cure bug?

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 8:13 pm

Just completed the companions main quest and cured kodlak. I noticed that there was nothing said about a cure for myself so i looked it up online. I discovered that is says to bring another witch head to the fire and it should pop your beast form up. Well, I went back to the coven where i got the first head and looted some dead witches to get more heads. Headed back to the tomb and tried to activate the fire but nothing happens...Is this a glitch or did I miss my chance to be cured?

After finishing Glory of the Dead you can use the blue flame combined with the Glenmoril witch's head in Ysgramor's Tomb the same as you did to cure Kodlak's spirit. Your wolf spirit will be released. Then it is a straight forward task of killing it to cure yourself.

It may be necessary to cure Vilkas and Farkas first.

I'm having problems with the cure too,
I know I need to cure Vilkas & Farkas before I can cure myself,
but, that's where the problem lies...

Vilkas died whilst following me on an unrelated quest
& Farkas is stuck in the Shrine Of Talos due to a bug.
Am I screwed?

I cured myself right after curing the old Harbinger, Kodlak. Tossed a witch head right in after and cured myself immediately. Didn't have to cure anyone else first.

I've just tried activating the Flame of the Harbinger whilst there's a Glenmoril Witch's head in my Inventory.
Nothing happens?
Any ideas?

Hmm..not really. Did you talk to Kodlak after curing him and become the new Harbinger?

As far as I can remember, he told me about being the new harbinger,
and after that whenever I tried to talk to him it kept saying 'This person is busy',
then Kodlak vanished.

You don't have to cure the others before you can cure yourself. The only time I was actually able to cure myself was right after I cured Kodlak, before even leaving the tomb the first time. The quest is just horribly bugged, and I haven't seen anything conclusive about how to make it work if it decides not to.
