Hello, I use Lydia for mule purposes. I'm level 52 and now Lydia can't carry more than 35 lbs. for me?

I have 175K and would like to keep increasing my profits. Does anyone know why Lydia is not carrying so much for me? Xbox 360 user.

You can ask followers to carry more than their limit be selecting the "I need you to do something" option then clicking on a chest or what you want them to loot and they'll never be unhindered. That's considered an exploit though. Followers don't level with the player so she'll be the same level she was when you first met her. Not sure if followers also benefit from Fortify Carry Weight enchantments so you could look into that.

My guess is that it's a bug. You know how followers have those Hunting Bows you can't remove from them? Her inventory has probably become full of the bows.

It's a known bug...isn't it something like her carry weight drops every single time you dismiss her and then ask her to follow you again?

I've got to the point where she can't carry anything above her own default items, so I just drop things on the floor infront of her and tell her to pick them up. She fortunately still equips things if you do this. It is a pest, and I'd assumed the Wabbajack "fix" would cure it, but sadly for me it only seems to have cured her weakness, so she's now a lot tougher than she was, but sitll very weak.

I don't know if all followers suffer from this bug, or if it's just Lydia. Would be a laugh if Mjoll were to say, "No prrroblem, I can carrrrrry and good bit of gearrrr", only to find she's weak as a gnat!

I read on another thread, that if you "overburden" them by asking them to continue to pick up gear, when you take the stuff away, the 'weight' of that item is not wiped away, thus making them appear encumbered. It may make sense, as I have never dismissed Lydia, apart from her being replaced in required quests with other NPCs, and I find she cannot carry as much now. I saddled her up like the mule she is...

I have used her exclusively so I have dissmissed her many times over. I will try another follower to see if there is a difference.

I wish I could give her a comand but I don't believe the XBOX 360 version has this ability. i can not give any other comand other than wait here. Are you able to command her to do other things if you have the Xbox 360 version?

I am an Xbox user and there is more than just "Wait here".. there is the "I need you to do something" and that is like the 2nd question in the list (if I remember correctly) I haven't used a follower in a while.

Occasionally when I click on my Follower I do get only the single "Wait Here" command, rather than the full list of options, but it's not happened since 1.5 I don't think. Don't really know what used to cause it.

You can also command your follower to attack an enemy after selecting the "I need you to do something" prompt.

I just installed the Unofficial Skyrim Patch mod, which fixes followers, and to my surprise Stenvar had 7 hunting bows on him. 7! Took them out of his inventory and swapped for a glass bow. I heard the angels sing hallelujah when he took it out and actually used it!

Can you pickpocket her with the perks to pickpocket equipped items?

Wierd, thanks for all your help. Lydia doesn't trade for more than 15 lbs. but if I give her a command to pick this up or that, she will carry more weight than 15 lbs. Weird and thanks I got answers for 2 problems. I found out how to use the command follower. I was looking for a list of commands, which I never have seen but when I put the rectile on any object then it gives me a different command choice. Awesome. 2 with 1 question, very productive. Thank you all.
