Lydia drinks skooma!

She must be on something since I've never seen her sleep (I'm up in the wee hours of the morning in Breezehome), despite having a bed upstairs (that says "owned") that I assume is her's. Does she ever sleep?

Yeah that's one of the weird things about the game. She is a cyborg I am convinced.

Another odd thing is you can rent a room, sleep till noon, and when you come out everyone gets up and heads to work.

Haha, maybe that's what Todd Howard meant when he said you could ruin the economy of Skyrim. You die.

she's always in my bedroom, sitting in the corner chair, munching on bread. And no I never catch her sleeping either.

She's like "The Terminator" , always on guard and never sleeps.

It would be nice if she actually used her room or came walking out of her room, if that is her room, when I come upstairs.

skooma?
you mean the minor stamina potion?

elderscrolls.wikia.com said: "Skooma is a crystalline solid produced from moonsugar. It is highly addictive and its users pass through bouts of euphoria followed by protracted lethargy. It is smoked in a special pipe, the crystals are placed in a small dish and heated. The gas produced is bubbled through water in the pipe to cool it as it is inhaled."

That would explain her peculiar behavior of repeatedly sitting in the chair in my bedroom then standing. She must hide her pipe, cuz I can't find it.

I tried to use the follower commands to get her to sleep but if I exit the command mode she just gets back up. Creepy. And she needs to GTFO of my room and sit creepily in hers.

What the hell is Skooma? I find it and hear about it in derogatory ways, but no one in-game has said what it is. I'm guessing it's like meth or something.

in Morrowind and Oblivion, Skooma was an illegal drug, with bad side effects that reduced your attributes such as intelligence. Oblivion even had a couple quests based around it. When Bethesda dumbed down everything for Skyrim, attributes were removed. All skooma does now is give a tiny boost toy your stamina. No one in-game mentions it because it's not worth mentioning anymore. Honestly, I don't even see why they bothered to put it in.

Well, I just went threw a hell of a fight with an orc outside Whiterun who asked if I wanted any. When I said it was illegal he attacked me.
