Lydia has a weakness to falmer?

So on my first character in my first dwemer ruin, aftand coincidentally. Lydia was following me at the time and at some point she got killed by falmer caster without me realizing it (I had figured she got stuck somewhere since i had jumped down a big shaft.) I don't understand how that is possible considering I had gotten in a fight with a dragonpriest at like level 10 and spent 20 minutes whittling him down (this one had a staff and by the end of the fight he actually ran out of charge on the staff haha). Well I have put in a couple hundred more hours to the game over 3 more characters I want to say I can't remember a single companion dying for good from regular combat except for against certain falmer. I was playing not long ago on a new character and lydia was killed 4 times in one dungeon by falmer. She just instantly fell over dead without ever kneeling down. I saw her get hit by about a dozen fireballs from the dragonpriest while already kneeling down and it didn't kill her. What is so special about falmer? I don't think it was the poison killing her because she never even knelt down and i saw her get killed by a falmer caster without getting a chance to even get poisoned.

My Lydia handled the few falmer she saw fine. My second follower was killed in a falmer fight, but there's some suspicion that it was friendly fire...an investigation is pending (*shifts nervously*).

Faendal, for me, had such a time with ice wolves. Not really with regular wolves or some other things, but for some reason, I always found him with an ice wolf on top of him, its paws on his shoulders, him collapsing to his knees...drove me nuts. "Oh heck, it's ice wolves...let's go the other way, you big wuss."

I've only seen lydia get killed by
Spoiler
the magical whatever creatures at the end of the college of winterhold quest (that you have to fight in town)

so I don't have anything substantial to add here about the falmer
but damnit I do hate the falmer.

I've noticed this too. I've almost never lost a follower, but I've had Jenassa die twice back to back while fighting falmer- I reloaded a save after noticing she was dead, and it happened again in the same spot. A shadowlurker, or whatever the fully armored melee ones are called, just ended her with a sword. Had to leave her behind temporarily and take care of the falmer with a dagger sneak attack + Sanguine Rose.

Maybe its because the Falmer often poison their weapons. It could be a glitch, when your follower runs low on health and goes down on one knee, that the poison keeps taking health. The only other time I've seen a follower die is from friendly fire... :flamethrower: :flame:

The Companions are horribly bugged, their stats are calculated the first time you enter a zone where the companion is located and don′t change as you level up. So since Lydia is one of the first Companions you meet she has really [censored] stats and higher level enemies can basically one shot her.
On my second character i′m already lvl 35 and i haven′t set foot in a single city cause i want to level my warrior to 40 before getting Lydia so she has high hp and doesn′t die in a couple of hits from high lvl falmers who hit very hard.

Bethesda if you′re reading this please fix it so that the stats get updated as you level, a 150 HP Lydia doesn′t cut it at lvl 40.
